Nice work! Ironic timing that I'm looking into how to improve the sound in mine as well. Oh yeah not sure if I told you I was a car audio installer many many years ago. With those speakers you may want to look into a separate amp, if you don't mind the extra weight and wiring, which will definitely be better than the build in amp of that head unit. Maybe even one with a built in DSP. Yes the head unit will still not have the best output to the amp (if you opt for an amp) but it will still be better than driving those speaker with the big crossover with the headunit power. BTW love the video you used for the test :) :)

You can see decent output if you go with a kenwood excelon headunit or the Sony single din that is an actually 50x4 rms

@@onesikm3No Excelon headunit will produce more than the typical 4x16rms of clean power. Sony DSX GS80, is capable of far more than that with some 45rms of clean power, but beyond that thew distortion of the class D topology is huge and there are some issues with blown 15A fuses if all four channels are used. Since we are not talking about just a simple system with 4 speakers in the corners, a real external amp would be the safest bet to drive such a 3-way speaker system.

High energy 3 way vs mile pro 3 way , which is better
