I still have my Adapt BB 1.0s in the OG colorway. Managed to cop them used for under retail a while back. I still enjoy them; they are actually really comfy imo and I really like the look of them. I think the technology is cool too. I think the main problem nowadays is probably the price. $500 retail for the Jordan 11s and $350-400 for the other adapts is pretty high. And maybe people just lack interest in the technology.
@HiddenGamer1174 жыл бұрын
I agree, naturally technology innovation should drive price down. Same with how 4Ds were $350 and now you can find them for $100 on sale. But $350 for retail and $600 for resell makes most people lose interest.

Novelty shoes at best... just like the Nike Air Pressure in 1989, the Adidas_1 in 2004 and the Nike E.A.R.L.... still... good for a collection, just not for daily/performance use.

True..I still rock my Airmax adapts every now and then though

I actually love the way the 2.0's look in the mag colorways, but they're just so expensive. If they could hit that $200 price range (it would be nuts) or under I'd jump on them for sure.

I got these on stockx for about that price. I hope they go back up because of the original Air mags

I read somewhere that Tinker’s vision was a shoe that can easily adjust the fit based on a player’s needs, like loosening while taking free throws. I guess that’s why the focus is on the performance side.

I think they would have been better if they weren't so much, theres a lot of better/cooler shoes people can get for that kind of money

I have the the Adapt BB 1.0 and I think they are a cool shoe. They aren’t the most comfortable imo but they aren’t bad. They are a good shoe if you want people to look at your shoes and say those look cool, or how do those work.

All the new tech is always a hit or miss
@MrDominic1523 жыл бұрын
I think Nike have dropped the adapt concept (auto lace) now...theres nothing on the internet about the 3.0. Such a shame. They should release the MAG again for retail. You are absolutely right that Nike should make the auto lace system a life style shoe rather than about performance.
@Malster101 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that, they should release the Back to Future Mag again, 20 thousand is way to much but yeah I’m hoping for a 3.0 or something new

I got to this vid a bit late but I am honestly feeling this shoe a lot! I personally don’t feel like the shoe is too heavy.. they’re not light by any means but they aren’t a boot either lol. I love that they’re honing in the BTTF tech in this era. I like all the small lil tech features (lights,bt phone voice controls, etc.) and I love that they self lace! That’s the coolest thing about them! Totally a hype shoe but I plan on owning quite a few. Thanks for the vid. 💯

Nike + wasn't that bad since it was optional and relatively cheap. Very subtle additional too. They should still include the slot in all their running shoes

How's the fit of 2.0? I've heard that you need to go up half a size.
@edsongomez80114 жыл бұрын
I've read comments about price and I think that's it's downfall. It's hard to support something that's so exclusive. My wife's asked if and when I'll buy a pair. I love the air max version but I just can't bring myself to spend that much. I can't justify that. As cool as they are i can't see them becoming the norm at that price. And have you seen the new flyease coming? Those are sweet and affordable

I was actually looking forward to your on-feet review. Myself having wide feet (like you), I’m a 9.5 but I bought a 10. Man, my feet were hurting after hours of wearing the BB 2.0. Shoe’s kinda narrow. I haven’t tried to switch the insoles yet, maybe I’ll get a thinner one.

Got 'em: it was the tech and whole gimmicky concept that got me, but even though the weight is pretty annoying (but obviously expected), I find the shoes superb looking with great lockdown, very good upper comfort and very good midsole for real world all day comfort. if Nike were to make a conventionally laced version of these but the overall feel - and of course reduced the weight - it would be a pretty solid proposition on those merits.

You know how they have been retracing the grails lately (Grinch, AM95 Neon, DMP 6s etc etc,) like how far away are they from making a MAG GR or at least something we could all afford to pay resale on 🙂
@watchman7034 жыл бұрын
the original design with the Nike Hyper Adapts 1.0 was the best interaction of the auto-lacing. The whole point of the shoe is to show off an "expensive toy". Make the lights and the technology visible (which they did in the Hyper Adapts 1.0). When the user laces their shoe or if they walk, add a breathing effect to the lights (can easily be added through the app). Like what @Heskicks said, the target audience for this shoe shouldn't be basketball players, the shoes are too heavy and clunky to wear. The target audience needs to be lifestyle/ streetwear.

If they dropped the price AND would use normal shoe models there would be way more appeal. I would buy an Air Max 90/97/720 with Adapt instantly. Or a Jordan 3

Cost too much for auto-lacing - something that takes us 10 seconds and laces look good anyway. Maybe it they were highs and were a new version of the McFly that would be popular?

Problems with self lacing shoes: 1) Not necessary 2) Too expensive 3) Too much maintenance required for it to function Don't waste your money on this overpriced crap

The technology isn’t dead. The designs are ugly. Make it lighter and on shoes that are actually desirable like the AJ11 but C’mon $500??
@RAHUL-un2jo4 жыл бұрын
@HotSauce02228 even if they can make it lighter or reduce the price, these will still remain expensive and heavier then the traditional shoes. Besides that, the technology doesn't make much sense either. The lacing system used in the new vapormax is far better in my opinion.
