Another great review. It's good to see reviews of kit that has been in use for several years, it gives us a much better understanding of how useful it's been and how well it has lasted. Keep up the great work.

Hi Andrew, It is not always possible since collections change rapid thanks to consuming more and more. It would be better if collections where a bit more sustainable in that way. Now Hestra is doing quite a good job in that respect. Thanks you for the compliment! Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

Thanks for the interesting review. I wear Hestra Fält gloves when it is a bit colder instead. A bit more expensive but they give a tremendous grip especially after waxing them with Hestra leather balm and will keep you warmer when the temperature drops. They come with an extra lining glove to wear inside the leather glove and can be replaced if neccessary. Great for outdoor activities (chopping wood, skiing, shoveling snow...) due to the amazing grip they give.

Great review!!!! I use the Hestra Fall Line all winter for skiing and got those for high output and/or milder temperatures in the Sierras. . However, unlike you, I had to downsize for the ergo grips. I am a solid 9 on the Fall Line and got the Ergo Grip on an 8 because the fingers of the 9 size were way too long, The Hestra rep said they should fit snug for dexterity and as the time pass they will stretch and form as a second skin. He almost describe the proper fit it should be like motorcycle gloves.

That would be a perfect gift for my dad, who works so much with wood and outside. I am worried about sizing as you couldn't even find the right size He has quite thick gout fingers. Not huge palm, but every L working glove is too small due to width of fingers, not length

@@OutdoorguruGearReviews oh that's nice Gijs. I am in Australia, my dad in Austria. He is 180cm tall and has always been a "mountain goat", slim etc, but his fingers are knobbly thick, from hard work (and climbing?) and gout. When we went bowling for example, he had to try to find the one and only big hole bowling ball.... I fear that as soon fingers get wider on glove, so does the length of fingers of gloves.

Nice detailed review. I had the Hestra Army Leather Patrol Glove. I got it for work. They felt nice but got destroyed and i still needed warmth. I use layers now for gloves. Plan to use Ergo as outer layer because of the windproof and water resistance. How are these compared to the Army Patrol? Bulk and stretch. The size 9 "fit like a glove" plan to go two sizes up so i can fit my silk and thin wool layers.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Mr Crypt Clown ;-). Nice name! I don't have the AP but they are more winter like gloves I think when I look at the Hestra website. The preshaped fit of the Ergo's must be better and I think with a thermal inner glove they would work fine for colder circumstances. In The Netherlands the weather is not that cold and I have not been able to travel to snow since Covid so I can't back this up with in the field experience. But based on experience and common sense I think the Ergo with a size bigger and a good inner glove would work for you. I hope this helps. Are you in the military? Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

Gijs, these gloves also have a version with Outdry. What do you think of the Outdry fabric, do you have any experience with it? Seems the perfect combi with these gloves.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews4 жыл бұрын
Hi Henk, I looked at the Hestra website and I can't find them. Could you send me link? Outdry is apretty clever way of waterproofing gear since the material is laminated to the inside of the outer fabric of the product itself. The result is that no water can get in between layers, like is the case with a lot of membranes that are 'hinging' loose inside the product like an inner glove or sock. With this method it is possible to have a build up of water between de outside oof the sock and the inside of the ouder material. Like is - again - often the case with gloves and shoes... this is not warm neither comfortable. Does this help? Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

@@OutdoorguruGearReviews Hey Gijs, thanks for the response. I think the glove is discontinued, but I managed to order a couple at small webshop for outdoor stuff and am awaiting delivery. Maybe they were the last pair available in the Netherlands :-). I have found 1 link for you from some Swedish (i believe) webshop: www.outnorth.com/hestra/ergo-grip-outdry-dexterity-sho . I was in general actually wondering what your experience is with waterproof gloves and in in relation to the video these in particular. I have read that in general waterproof gloves can become a little sweaty and wondered if you have any experience with gloves with an outdry fabric.

✔️ out Tilley hats. Made in CanAda. Much more suitable for out of doors activities as opposed to what you are wearing. Yes! I said it, you are wearing a sports cap not an outdoorsman’s piece of head gear. Tilley hats protect your noggin from rain, sun and falling meteorites. Not! Nice glove review.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ellery, Thanks for the great supportive comment, again! Yes, I am aware of the fact that this is a sports cap but not just any. I bought it in Sweden because I wanted to support a local brewery on the fantastic brews they do. And... no drinking and driving so the cap was a nice way of supporting without bringing beer. I bought a T-shirt too, I know, that is not a hardshell. The nice thing about caps is, that I can wear them under the hood of my hardshell - rain jacket - and protect my spectacles even better when it is pouring outside. I have a Tilley hat but I don't get to find a good way to wear it under the hood of the jacket. Maybe you know a way? Did you know that Tilley hats have a 'secret' pocket?
