Dear Gijs, thank you for the honest review! I have a question about the surface of the mat: I have a problem with slippery materials on sleeping pads - how is the top of the Thermarest ProLite Apex? Thank you!
@OutdoorguruGearReviews3 күн бұрын
Hi MH, You are welcome! I do understand the question but I can't check it anymore. After the review the mat was send back to Thermarest... Does it end here? No because I might have a mat here from the same fabric. Key question: slippery but where? Between de pad and the sleepingbag or the tent? Let me know! Cheers, Gijs
@MH-mf9ei3 күн бұрын
@OutdoorguruGearReviews Thank you for considering my question! I mean slippery between the pad and the sleeping bag! I tend to slide around and even down from a mat with my sleeping bag. I am also considering the Thermarest Trail Pro as an alternative, but it is heavier of course. In general I am looking for the most comfortable pad that is still somewhat packable, that I can still carry on my back, even if it is a heavier mat.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews3 күн бұрын
For sure! I love questions. The Trail Pro is def less slippery. Did you ever consider Exped? What sleepingbag and tent? Just curious.
@MH-mf9ei3 күн бұрын
@@OutdoorguruGearReviews Okay, then the Trail Pro is a definitely a candidate. And yes, I would consider the thick air pads by Exped like the MegaMat Lite or the Ultra 7R. My tent and sleeping bad are both by Nordisk, the Svalbard 1 SI and the Tension Mummy 500. Thank you for staying in touch!

Downburst, please! [BTW, "guys" is seen as not acceptable by some people, but I think it's all about how you use it. I was criticised in a teaching evaluation for saying "guys" to a mixed group of college students, so I started using "folks", which is seen as more gender neutral. It's like stepping on eggshells these days ... keep up the good work!]

Real nice vid . Q : 1 . Is this scarpa 's best 3 season hiking boot 🥾 Out of the 3 or 4 boots that they have ? 2 . Is this boot suitable for a backpack of say 50 kg 's On a serious trail ?

I just bought a new pair of waterproof hiking boots and after a hike I gave them a wash and after washing I noticed both insides were wet but I never put any water inside them. Should this happen or is this an issue with the boot ?

What is the brand and type of the boot?

@ trespass caelan boots there my first pair. I’m new to hiking so I don’t know much about gear etc
@OutdoorguruGearReviews25 күн бұрын
Ok Denis, they should be waterproof. I was wondering if is where Gore-Tex lined boots hence my question. My tip: take a shallow bowl or bucket, put a layer of water in it and put the shoes in the water and hold them down. The water should be around ankle height. See where the water comes in... Make a picture and send them in for warranty. Let me know how this ends please. Cheers, Gijs

@@OutdoorguruGearReviews Im going to return them and get my money back. Im want to get a boot that will work well on a mix of terrain. I live in Scotland and often have wet weather especially now coming into winter. Can you recommend a boot that will be good for wetter conditions and also would be good for urban/hillwalking ??

This is all great but to actually install it in the Osprey day pack is where the rubber meets the road...... There is a red doohicky on a 2 inch strap that somehow is supposed to go through the hanger on the bladder. It is not self evident how it is supposed to lock through the bladder hangar probably through the loop to hold it upright......?
@OutdoorguruGearReviews27 күн бұрын
Hi! I don’t really get your remark. The pack I am using is not a day pack. I think that attaching the bladder is pretty straightforward but maybe I am wrong.

I've watched countless videos on shoulder straps for women, but none really address the specific challenges, like the chafing against the armpit area. For women, unlike men, the chest (breasts) causes the straps to slide aside, even with chest straps in place. I'm facing this issue with my first backpack (Osprey), and I just can't find a comfortable fit where the straps don't rub against my armpits. 😢
@OutdoorguruGearReviewsАй бұрын
Our experience (talking to my wive for her experience 😀) is that there are backpacks for women with curved shoulder straps that do fit well without problems. Maybe you bought the wrong backpack. Which one is it?

The amount of dangerous practices while chopping that wood I've seen you do in this video I would never teach any one else. You're done multiple things that are very dangerous what a plonka. 13:46 people never ever hold onto one end of a log and hitting the head of the axe down like this you'll lose a hand.

Note to all, ThinkTank actually makes 4 versions of this bag. There are 2 versions that sport the Mindshift logo on the bag, and they have a more camping backpack appearance, offered in black and green. They also have black and green versions that sport the ThinkTank logo on the bag, and they have a more urban / generic backpack appearance. I figured this out when I originally bought the green Mindshift version, then exchanged it for the black ThinkTank version. I had both bags for a couple days and can confirm they are identical in features, pockets, size, only the logo and overall appearance are different. Pictures of all 4 versions are on their website.
