HET NEST VAN DE MEERKOET COOT NEST

De meerkoet heeft zijn nest gebouwd op het zwemplateau van een boot in de jachthaven van camping de kluft in ossenzijl. Het hele legsel is uitgebroed en heeft het nest verlaten

The little Coots wouldn't be swimming long in my lake; bullfrogs, large mouth bass, turtles, gars, Great Blue Herons, hawks, eagles and alligators! Good thing we don't have Coots! The Coot chick's head and neck feathers have beautiful colors, too bad they lose them in adulthood!

They are weak fliers but they do fly! Northern species can cover long distances! I learn new things every day by "simply researching" encyclopedias and/or online, if I don't know the answer to a question I look it up...It's as simple as that! There are way too many people that rely on/believe hearsay instead of seeking the truth or facts on their own. Conclusion: when in doubt look it up.
