In Hyderabad we call this bontha. My grandmother used to make so many of these from old sarees and bedsheets. It is such a sustainable way of resuing old clothes. and cheap way of making quilts. Much better than the AC blankets we get in the market. Our ancestors were geniuses. every family member had their own bonthas which we loved.

I usually did donate my clothes before but now I don't because I saw that my clothes were never worn by the people i donated to. I felt really sad seeing that and when I asked them why they weren't wearing those jackets and shoes, they told me that no one will give them money if they looked presentable. In Punjab it is known as KHIND....in my childhood I used to help my mother to make khind...we don't use proper stitched clothes for stuffing... we cut pieces and make 5 to 6 layers then stitch it😊
