That Aubrey Williams piece is killer. Reminds me of some of my absolute favorites in abstract expressionism. Hew Locke was a fascinating interview subject too. Good stuff.

I disagree. As an African I'll look at a somewhat local example of Ethiopia. Uncolonized yet it's not in a state of being primitive. Colonization does not equal modernity. Those events are mutually exclusive
