Nice video. Shows how much more complicated the newer lc models are. Dealer fitted new battery to my T Black. When delivered and looking around it I realised hex was disconnected ! and wireing was all over the place. I did similar to you re routed and connected and tidied it all up. Ive got my own cameras to fit but they are not can bus hex compatible so not sure ill be able to use bike power. Might be battery packs. time will tell.

I have just sold the Innovv on eBay, sent it yesterday. Also the Hex EzCan is on at the moment, 5 bids so far finishes Friday. That was brand new last year because my previous failed and HEX authorised a new replacement from Nippy Normans even though it was way out of warranty. Bike specific of course so no good for the Goldwing!

I normally put a piece of masking tape next to the holes that have a collared torx bolt ,or even writhe the lengths on as some are longer than others

I spoke to innov and unless you want to keep the motion detector part of the system, which is why its connected to the battery directly, you can simply connect the red black and yellow to one of the hexezcan output plugs. More than one way to skin the cat. PS l love cats...think I will connect direct to the ezycan.

Hi GSD, well that is interesting. I did exactly that, filmed it, and then it did not work.😱 so deleted that film. First I connected to the battery in the normal way and everything worked. Then thought what a waste of time as I can connect everything to the ezcan and save all that cable. So I trimmed the 12volt to 5 volt cable down, soldered the hex connectors and wow so much better. Until I switched on...nothing. I tried everything for two days, but could get nothing. So ordered, from eBay, a new 12/5volt ezcan part with full cables for £20. Tried wiring that up to the hex ezcan before trimming any cables...nothing. I am not electrical expert but I cannot understand why it would not work. Went back to the battery and the yellow cable to the ezcan...perfect. If you watch my video carefully you will see the 12/5volt converter with no INNOVV sticker and then like magic, with a white sticker. That is before and after BUT why didn’t it work 🤷♂️🤔

@@normski3091 I did a dry run today with the hex ezcan being used . Didn’t want my battery terminals being overcrowded . You have to add an extra wire that comes as one of 4 spares and then that is connected to the yellow trigger wire . Plugged mine all in , set it to a 1 amp fuse as an accessory with the app on the computer , shutoff delay 60 seconds and all works well . Only thing is you don’t have the parking sensor movement thing which I don’t really need (🤞) as that’s why it gets wired to the battery . I will install it all tomorrow, when it’s not so flipping hot 🥵

Brilliant GSD wish I could have worked that out 🤷🏼♂️. Wired Goddie’s K5 last week and works well, but to battery again 😳

Hi Norm , just wondering if your new 1250GS is part of the current BMW "technical bulletin " where a hole is drilled in the shaft housing and a rubber bung installed to let any water out . Then they check the shaft drive for vibration using a machine ,and replace it if it fails . My 2013 GS is part of this bulletin ,and I only found out when I had to have a failing left handlebar switch unit replaced.ggrr . Dealers don't notify owners like they would on a recall notice , They wait for a bike to be booked in for a service ,which to me is poor .
@normski30912 жыл бұрын
Wow Graham I have never heard about that. I also presumed that BMW would do a recall if they found something serious, not wait until it goes in for a service etc. Next time I am at the dealer I will ask questions. Thanks for the heads-up. By the way I had the exact same switchgear fail on my 2012 1200RT while in the middle of France in 2014. Just under warranty so BMW rescue picked us up and drove us for well over an hour to the nearest BMW Dealer who had a part in stock...because they fail he said!

Hi Martyn, not even been out on my new 1250GS since returning from Wales...too busy as we are selling our house and downsizing. Great trip planned around the Scottish Highlands end of September so something to look forward to.

hi Martyn, Thank you Martyn for your comment. I have just completed a tour of the Highlands but did not film because I realise my format of bike trips is now too outdated. I am working on a different method and hope to complete a video soon.
