I will use this idea. To me, this is a great way to get a game world started with very little preparation. Also, if you have a friend do one of these, you could agree to have the maps meet up with each other on one of three sides. Roll a d6 to see which side that your friend's map will overlap yours.

My 10 year old and I are using Moldvay to build our 23 project but will be utilizing 1e dungeon generation and our Hex rules to do so. Last night we found a living carpet of mushrooms guarding an herbalists hut and it isn't looking good. Them damn Venus Carpets. Realistically using those rules or something like Ruins of the Undercity for Dungeon/lair creation is a great way to go. Great minds brother.

Parsec23... I suppose I can do a starsystem a day... for Traveller, yikes, that would take up all my time. But I have considered doing a book of one-shot ideas for Traveller gamers.

After decades of gaming I have dungeons out the wazoo. Mega, mini, funhouse, meat grinder, they go on and on. #Hex23 sounds like a much better idea.

Never heard of Scarlet Heroes before. Will have to check it out. Good idea on doing a year of hexes.

I just got scarlet heroes so this is perfect timing. Starting late to the *23 party but damn does it sound like a good time. Really love your videos man thanks.

It was Sevanwints idea on my the Guilded server. I can't take credit. I just have a platform to spread a good idea.

The prompts are pretty cool in Worldographer.

I should do this one year and then fill out the dungeons the next year in D23

This is a cool idea. I considered it, but my current solo game is an urban one, and I'm in the middle of it... and I do not have time for two. I could still just do 1 hex a day but I decided to go with the Dungeon23 challenge because I think, for me, it will be harder. I'm better at wilderness maps than dungeon maps, so I am using it to improve my dungeon-map-making.

Personally I'm going over a world that I've generated and making maps for all of the lairs and interesting points, nothing massive like a mega dungeon but bits and pieces here and there maybe every day maybe not but in theory I should have way too many maps by the end of the year

Dungeon23 or Hex23...why not do both? Because I'm a Madman Across the Water.

Hex crawl ok I thought for a minute we were goona do witchcraft ... World building is probably more useful then making a megadungeon for most DMs.

Yeah hex23 does sound spooky too haha.

Can you show how to build a star wars D6 hex crawl?

Do you think at the end that you might tweak the locations and move or change some, to make it more cohesive? I somewhat wonder if it will feel too random in the end.

I'm doing some editing as I go. But so far it hasn't been too bad. Scarlet Heroes usually gives enough space between points based on how it works where there are empty hexes in between.

How's your Hex23 going? Is there a follow-up video?
@TheBasicExpert Жыл бұрын
Lol. Not very good. Macuahuitl sort of took over my life. I do plan to record more solo games in the future though.

I did catch this pretty late, currently on a watchthrough of your library. This one caught my attention. Might be a smidge late to this party, but I'm sure I could catch up :D

What's a recommended size for the world map or an average size? I like the idea and want to give it a go but I'm never sure how big to make the map for solo play.

A lot of sibilance makes this painful to listen to.

Yeah it's my damn blue yeti. I've tried to get rid of it. It's only bad with headphones unfortunately. It gets a lot of noise.
