***** turn the Decimal into Binary, break it up into sections of 4, use the appropriate Bit values for HEX (i.e.: 8 4 2 1 | 8 4 2 1) and then add the #'s where the binary bits are on.

Your on the right track...don't derail! Knowledge is power...you DO need an education to get ahead in life. Don't take anyone's word at face value. Make sure you get the right information...ask questions...but don't over analyze things either.

it works vice versa - take a decimal, convert to binary, contain in 4 bit segments, each segment represents the RTL ones position, tens pos, hundred pos and so on. neat trick!
