Hey, everyone! I can’t believe it’s really been this long! I did this edit back in December of 2010 because I wanted a long version of this song for my playlist, but I found none, so I decided to make one myself. The way it was done was super simple, but I’ll be holding on to it yet a bit longer 😉. There are a couple videos on KZbin that use this edit, and I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify that this edit was solely done by me, at 15, with an unaltered copy of the track as its sole basis, no extra hands on deck. I don’t want to be petty and I won’t forget that the reason I uploaded this to KZbin was so everyone else who was desirous for a longer version, like I was, could enjoy it, not for clout or anything like that, but I do feel I am entitled to a tiny bit of vanity, nobody is perfect🤓… and besides, even if I were indeed a jerk, there would be nothing I could do, because I do not own the rights to this song 😂. Thank you to everyone who has kept coming back all these years to enjoy this song, whether you are one of the OGs from the early 2010s or you joined the ride along the way. I’m glad we all have Hey Arnold in common and keep Mr Hyunh alive timelessly. I hope this song, whatever version of it you listen to, will continue to fulfill your spirit and remind you of all the valuable lessons we learned from simpler times. ❤

Oh I loved his character too, he had so many layers and was given quite a story arc. Dang I will always remember the tragic scene of Mr. Hyunh's separation from his daughter in Vietnam. I was very young and it was the first time I was confronted with that reality of war. It was obviously a filtered representation, as the show was for children, but I'm thankful for 'Hey! Arnold'. I think it's fantastic to show children digestible lessons in heartbreak and loss, with a neat package and happy ending to soothe. Holy cow, I look back and realize there were a whole mess of lessons on empathy, kindness, and embracing the weird in every episode.

Drumroll418 Randy, for all his troubles (alcohol, showing up naked in public, and a stroke), is comparable to George Strait as an icon of the 80's/90's that kept traditional country going, even when faced with other people crossing over to the pop realm (usually the women, like Shania Twain) or adding more rock to their style (the early Garth Brooks' guitar-smashing days).
@Drumroll4188 жыл бұрын
I think if country had stayed more like this gen (so more traditional), I might actually be listening to much more of it. As it is now, hardly ever. I want pop, I have pop. I want rock, I have rock (and a lot of good ones at that!). I don't need country being confused what it is supposed to be. I liked it when it really filled out its own musical niche, but now it just bleeds into others.

Life was pretty simple back 10 years ago.. no drinking and being grounded, just spelling tests and going to the fair and playing outside with friends.. I'm gonna be missing the simple things for a long time to come.

Its so hard to explain to some people how content and even happy we can be with an inexpensive life. Even if we made much more money, we still might like just enough living space for our needs and a few wants, a stable life, and entertainment. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it makes you happier than something simple

When Hey Arnold turns 25 next year, I wanna see them do a cover of this song with modern country artists!!
