Bestie, in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, was co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus. MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey, Band-Maid and Kelly! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV.

Hi Kelly, this song was a co written with Mike Einzinger of Incubus, they met at a rock festival in the USA and became friends and opened for Incubus in Japan with Mike joining on stage to perform the song with them. This song as well as Protect You which you recently reacted to are on the new album "Epic Narratives" dropping in Sept. the song "Bestie" is 100% in english, subtitles help to understand everything. Next week Aug 7th Band-Maid will be dropping a new song in collaboration with The Warning called "Show Them" The Maid's met the Warning at Aftershock festival and discovered they were fans of each other and a few months ago the 2 bands performed together in Japan and have become like sisters since. thanks for continuing to check out the Maids, I hope we see you next week with the new video. cheers

Band-Maid has two other songs all in English, "The Dragon Cries" and "Don't Let Me Down", just so you know.

But others have pointed out that "Bestie" IS the first all-English song with lyrics by Kobato rather than an outside lyricist. Tho I wonder if Mike Einziger was involved with the lyrics at all? I can totally see Miku getting his approval on the lyrics at least.

@@stevehall5128 I think it's possible that Kobato consulted with Mikey-chan, but is skilled enough to do them without his input or approval. After all, it is a Band-Maid song in the end.

Favorite BAND-MAID Video? It still remains to be the double live video of "Manners/Black hole". Please take a look at that one for us. You won't be disappointed.

Band Maid has 3 other songs expressing their appreciation of the fans. Smile, About Us, and Memorable. Otherwise, too many great songs to recommend one.

I feel like "Endless Story" is at least partway in there now, after the Yokohama Arena version.

there are several tracks for the fans, this is not one of them, most madiacs acknowledge this was written for all members of the band

@@rRobR I can see how my remark can imply that Bestie is for the fans. Not my intent. Merely wanted to lead into the tangential idea of songs written for the fans. Also Bestie lyrics can be about the topic in general.
