Hey Grandad - Can you fix my Bubble Gun ?

Bought this yesterday and it lasted 24 hours before it broke, which was a shame as I rather liked the way it worked. Managed to fix it with a bit of effort and without hot-glue.

Yep, I got a similar model, was broken at the very same spot. Got it for a bit less than a pound though. Seems like the design puts too much stress there. Thanks for the vid, it really helped me.

hi, i have a fujifilm s4800 as well. The audio on that camera when i face the front or the back is quite hard to hear. Its quiet a lot of times when i face the camera and start talking. do you have the same problem? could you make a review on it? i haven't seen anyone make a review on the video audio. it will help me out a TON! +SlayrSarah98 I am no camera expert and I wouldn't know what level of audio to expect. I just adjust it in editing if it is too loud or too quiet. The only thing I have done with my camera is stuck foam over the microphones to reduce the wind noise. Obviously this slightly muffles the sound but I haven't found this a problem. Thank you! Couldn’t figure out where the spring for the trigger went! Sadly the motor corroded because of leaking fluid, but at least I now know how to fix it! ❤

Hi we have a similar model with a clear outer case. It stopped working and when I checked I found that some liquid had got near the batteries. Do you have any advice on how to fix it?

If you think it is liquid near the battery and the battery contacts are corroded then you need to clean the corrosion off and probably replace the batteries. If they are just wet you can get an oil type spray that drives water away. To be honest, just getting it wet does not often cause a problem while it is running, but if it is left wet that is when the corrosion starts.

@thecyberleaderwhufc3040 if possible, I would take the gun with you and see if the threads match before you buy the bottle. The actual capacity of the bottle is not very important unless it is too wide and you can't get your hand around the pistol grip.

Just getting it wet shouldn't be a big problem. Just dry it out. If you haven't left it long enough to start rusting it should be fine. You might need to clean the battery terminals, maybe spray some oil to clear any residue left. Probably new batteries too.

Most likely the silicone tube has split or come loose.

How did you drill those perfect little holes in the plastic?

You will have to remind me which holes you mean. I made this video 3 years ago. I have just skipped through watching it again trying to see which holes you mean. If you mean the holes for that wire strap I explain in the video at 04:52 I heated the wire with the soldering iron and pushed it through so I didn't drill the holes, the wire just melted it's way through.

Hi JackANDJude, great to hear from you. That is a good question and I really cannot remember. Watching the video back doesn't answer the question or remind me either. However watching this video (not mine) I can see through the clear plastic body that the motor is driving one of those "pumps" the move the fluid through a soft plastic tube by a sort of roller mechanism you can just see under his thumb kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKe8ZHeoqb9qaNk I have just looked it up and it is called a Peristaltic pump and I have seen them on ink jet printers

Oh, yes. They use peristaltic pumps on soap dispensers. I think I need to get a couple for tinkering. :)

Sounds like you might have a split in the tube, or it has come loose at one end.

Frickelfritze compared to most of the stuff I buy at £1 or less, this was an expensive toy at £4 plus it needed 3 AA batteries. My grandson saw it and wanted it and I was going to convince him to have a cheaper one, but having looked at 5 or 6 different really cheap ones I decided that even at that price it was better value so I was disappointed when it broke so soon.

I have had many verisons on this bubble gun and this is the most common fault- the trigger snaps after repetitive use.. I try to glue and reinstall this thing... its not even worth the time- I just buy a new one... the quality sucks

I guess the quality relates to how much you paid for it. If they were cheap you get what you pay for. I am sure somebody will tell us they made a replacement on a 3D printer but I don't have access to one of those 😊
