Absolutely! Excellent point indeed, we ALL should emulate Jesus, whether we are portraying Him on TV or not. We are His representatives after all, so people should be able to recognize Him (or a part of Him) when they see us. I kind of understood that on an intellectual level already but never really got it on a deep, personal level like I do now. The lightbulb moment came after watching a Jonathan's interview where he explained what he means for him to play Jesus on screen - inspiring stuff!

He is very humble and will be the first and is the first to say how much he isn’t worthy for the task. Can you imaging acting the roll of The Son of God?! Yeah good luck with that. Please watch more of his interviews, there are many. Also follow him on Instagram to watch many many prayer sessions he does. He also is on the App Hallow and does readings of The Lords Prsyer in Latin and Aramaic. I could go on but you get the idea. Hope you will see that he is a very serious actor AND very much human. My 12 year old daughter keeps saying, "He is my Jesus, He is so funny, He makes us all laugh so much. I'm not going to give my Jesus to anybody". Then I beg her to share little bit of Jesus with me and she gives me "one dot"... That's how it goes every night when we watch The Chosen. The whole experience is beautiful. I'd never make "this" Jesus sad. I'd like to see Him always happy and cheerful. Our Lord is so full of love and compassion. Lovely....

@ Reena That is is so cute! I am so surprised that young children like the show. My youngest is 8, and in episodes where Jesus doesn’t appear immediately, she complains! She calls him “Gee Gee”. She asks , “Where is my Gee Gee?”. My 15 year old daughter, I suspect however, watches mostly for Andrew, she keeps complimenting his hair! Ah well! The Holy Spirit will draw us close via any means.🤣

It's so true for me, that no Actor(s) so far have depicted a believable Jesus, -until Jonathan Roumie🏆 Usually the Actors portraying Jesus, are a more disturbing distraction from the Story; & although Jonathan is good looking, I don't feel attracted to him bc I'm distracted listening to his WORDS😁. You are incorrect. THE best Jesus was Robert Powell as Jesus in ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ I think in 4 parts, 1977. He was amazing and just right as Jesus. And Jonathan now us excellent!

Jonathan is the best actor I can think of. I once felt there was no one who could top Jim Caviezel in the part of Jesus, but Jonathan is so good. They both are unbelievably great. Being a Christian , helps , I am sure. The Chosen has been a great Blessing to me and obviously, millions of others.

I love The Chosen and Jonathan Roumie is by FAR the best actor I've ever seen attempt the role of Jesus. (Disclaimer: I haven't seen Jim Caviezel's version so I can't speak to that one.) Knowing his background, I had assumed that his family was the source of the accent and I have zero doubt that it's very good indeed. However, I must add, on what I hope is a humorous note that's taken only in the highly respectful spirit in which it's intended: As a Spanish-speaking person who has extremely low familiarity with Middle Eastern accents, I constantly hear Roumie's Jesus with a Spanish accent. Like, close to Castiliian Spanish. My husband, who's a NATIVE Spanish speaker, even asked me upon being introduced to the series whether the actor playing Jesus was Hispanic. When I asked why, he said "It sounds to me like he has a bit of a Spanish accent. Can't you hear it?" :D

Johnathan should be commended for his portrayal of Jesus. It is the most really human down to earth Jesus I have ever seen. He has emotions, wants, needs and qualities just like us even though he is the son of God. He interacts with his people like any other human being and there’s no fear of his heavenly status. As a Catholic, I am so warmed to see so many Christian denominations rallying around the Chosen. I find great value in the production being mindful of a true to scripture gospel story. I know they have filled in details where there were none before. But I do not think that those "artistic liberties" affect the gospel facts, and I do think they add value to living the gospel. It may not have happened "exactly this way". I think the creators are very honest about that. But maybe the lord gave them a little inspiration to get closer to things than they were in other stories?

Great interview. Thank you for continuing to SHARE the fine balance of being BOTH...son of God/son of Man. Jonathan, you said in the beginning to...lower your [ Expectations and Standards ] when meeting you. Yep, I say the same with our human flaws. While this was delivered in casual humor, the Truth of this is so necessary for all of us to realize the the Vessels of God are a bit fractured and will carry the necessary thorns of His Grace in our humility. It's generally where the POWER of God is fully realized. This is what I love about the life portrayals of the Disciples in The Chosen. The power of what God gives THRU our Lord...has to be fully realized [ received fully in that personal revelation...that OMG, I am forgiven and loved DESPITE my human flaws?!?] Thank you for obeying and working so hard to carry this difficult Call in excellence. While YOU were/are 'chosen' to portray THE Christ, remember that you are helping us to BE little Christs to the world...those little 'hotspots' of Heaven to the world. We are commissioned to [ BE HIM ] to the world too... and The Chosen is helping that to be more fully received in ALL of us.

They’re really doing good on the accents though. It’s crazy because I thought the accents were natural but then I heard more of the cast members talk in their normal accents sooooo again , TALENT . Lol
