I have wondered that since I saw MIB3 as well. I don't think they did to be honest. Always picked up on K searching for a guy like himself and scouting possibilities in MIB1 and that he had followed J's career for awhile. The whole line about, "have you ever flashy thinged me" and the fact that K knew enough of J's personal and career information that he could write a Police after action report for him was planted. Though I can say I did like the twist that they put on it for MIB3. Like it was enough that J went back and worked with K so that K knew in the future who he was looking for and was the only one who "knew" who he wanted to recruit but when the kid voice comes from that truck it just made the whole trilogy even better.

What i allways found funny amd quite seeming as if it was destiny, is that as we all know the 2 most common family names in an American phone book are Smith and Jones so they are first choice for aliases even for real agents. You know this movie explains the brighter side of Chaos Theroy. Chaos theroy states that where there is chaos, there will always be. However, it shows that even through great heartache... we grow the most. The fact that J never went back to save his dad and the fact that K didn't go back in time as well to try and change the past. Instead he gave the one yhing that makes Chaos theory look like childs play... hope. K gave James or J hope when his father was gone, as well as a message that inspires hope in those that hear it. "Your daddy was a hero."
@stevecanham114518 күн бұрын
I think they play off the fact and use the words to show someone will die during that sequence, and by saving J's father should one of them have gone back again, one of them would have to die themselves or would have led to young K dying which likely would lead to the destruction of the earth at some point since K and J have saved the world many times its lead to believe and without those events J would have likely followed in his father's footsteps in the military and would never been recruited to MiB and even if he was considered, back in the first movie K is the only one who believes J would make a good agent. His father was a hero because through his sacrifice the world has continued for decades.
@negadoge18 күн бұрын
@stevecanham1145 That is a good point that touches on one of the major aspects of Chaos Theory... the three aspects of chaos theory are as follows. 1: Chaos is but a way of life, and we must find our own peace in this chaos. 2: Where there is chaos, regardless of external factors, there will always be chaos. This is a shared aspect of predestination theory. 3: Chaos is as order does.... order controls while chaos confronts... where there is order, there is the chaos... where there isn't one... the other isn't as well. Chaos can only destroy what needs to be broken while order will continue to build up and refine what is broken. The one that matters the most here would be the 2nd aspect. This is actually an answer as to "Would you go back and kill Hitler before he rose to power?" The true answer being, Hitler was just a man... if he wasn't there, then someone of equal or more chaotic possibility would've taken his place... then the holocaust would've been so much worse.

@@TheOneandOnlyDeelax and @joshs6147 K had an older model Neuralizer, fed from a battery pack on the belt. We only see him attempt to use it once in the film and it kept beeping at him and making him fiddle with the settings, causing J to pull his future model out just before Griff told them not to lie to anyone. Makes me think the older model was unreliable or temperamental, while the big one back at base may not have had the same issue. It's also a case of K saw J with tech that was half a century ahead of what MiB was using at the time and needed to interrogate him, and MiB protocol requires interrogation being done at MiB HQ, so when J was being uncooperative during said interrogation, K took him to the Neuralizer room.
