Matthew my Dad would take 3 days off smoking herbs every 6 months and would drink it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. He'd set it for 24 hours before consuming it. The belief is that it cleans the kidney and lungs and when he start back smoking it was a different high. Great content as always these old time traditions and tricks are dying with the older generation. Glad to see you're still keeping these things alive and well. One love from beautiful Trinidad and Tobago ❤ 🇹🇹.

Its great with pork or in a vegetarian recipe . it can also be prepare uncooked as a salsa with the previous ingredients and a nice amount of lime juice .

This is prickly pear... many different varieties. We have them in New Mexico sometimes. Some at ankle height, others toward Texas are as large as SUVs. Grows in abundance like grass lol... The fruit ON TOP is what they call the TUNA. It grows a little yellow or red flower on top as well. They also call the entire cactus a tuna in South America. Argentina mainly. Its a great antioxidant source known to Native people throughout the Americas and Caribbean. Also, as Chucky said, its great for hair and skin. Keep up the good work Matthew we love you man.

I grow prickly pear & always pick wild cactus fruits. Prickly pear is a pretty big cactus variety. They're all edible. The kind in this video looks really good. I bet the fruit is delicious too. The cactus I have has to be eaten when the petals are young. It basically has a vein structure that gets really tough when it gets to mature. It also has a bunch of tiny hair like spines that really suck to get in your skin. Chucky's looks like it doesn't have either problem.

You can still use the mature ones for sauces or salsas. So far I've had them grilled & put in soup/stew. Both really good.
