Ms. Perfectly Imperfect I kinda think Mr. Steve mishandled this a little.. Not to question his intelligence at all (Steve's my idol), but I think her friend is really into some depression of feeling left behind, when your circle is doing very good, and you're in an abyss, you'll tend to feel bad about YOURSELF not because you're jealous) that you're not keeping up! But when she's in bad trouble, her friend shows up, that means her friend really is a good person and wants to help, notice how the lady kept defending her friend.. I truly believe there's something troubling her friend (personally).. WELL THATS WHAT I THINK 😁

This young lady may not have experienced life enough yet to know when/how to let go. IT IS WHAT IT REALLY IS, Steve's absolutely correct! Most people are in our lives for a season. People grow apart going separate ways, having different opinions. We need positive, encouraging people in our lives. You owe her nothing.

Wow! This resonate. Thank you for sharing your story and thanks Steve for truth 'A fair well' friend. I been talking to God about this phase of life. I know he was showing me or wanting me to face the truth that I have ponder and deep inside knew for years. Like this young lady I have tried to just see beyond the truth. However today I can no longer allow my self to live in denial. It is what it is and I am going face reality. I knew this period of life was showing me the truth but just didn't want to accept what was being reveal to me. Sad thing about is because this young lady sounds so much like me and we really have a different kind of love and heart for them.

Thats exactly what i experienced with my friend from college who i've been hanging out for three years ...when everything was going south for me she was "there"for me ..mostly i feel now that she did that is because she wanted to see how miserable i was and how i was failing at some classes.Honestly ,sometimes i would see her kinda smiling at me whenever i would tell her my problems..but whenever things went great for me she was very cold and distant ..so the only you can do is cut your losses now and be done with it ..this kind of people will never be someone's good friend and will actually never be happy for u and it is very secretly toxic and stressful..

I have a friend that only comes to me when she feels nobody cared about her, when she feels everyone is ignoring her, she tells me all the negative things about the people she was furious about and asked for my advice and help. When she gets all that she was looking for using my advice, she kinda ignore me until she hits rock bottom again. The last time this happened, I thought if something happens again, I'm going to stop giving advice. The fact that she ignored me completely when things went well for her makes me feel used and I don't like it.

" Although we LOVE to seek out validation or confirmation about situations such as this, if we have to ask other people about "what's next?" or "what should I do?," 9xs out of 10 we already have our answers in our guts and know the answers already.

I am in a similar situation, i am always there when things go well for her, i hype, i congratulate, i am exited. But when i tell her something about what i am doing and that's actually is making me happy she just act dry. When we were at college she ran a half marathon and i was soooo exited and happy for her, but maybe a couple months later i myself ran a half marathon too and told her that, and she was like, umm i ran that like a months ago... like not even a congratulation, nothing... and there are a lot of situations like this. I am not even mad at her, i am just disappointed.

I had this friend. she was the topper in class. like she was super smart. I was not. and my grades were falling badly. she came one time gushing to me, telling me she got the top rank in the class. at the same subject i got trash marks. I tried to seem happy for her, but deep down i just couldnt. i wished that i could be like her. jealousy. i felt so guilty for not seeming happy. but my own self esteem after seeing my marks make me feel inferior to her. which I hated. I also used to tell her that shes lucky she doesnt need to put as much effort to get good grades. im sure she got hurt. i feel terrible, even now.

There are exceptions to most rules. I agree with the sista you just don't drop some one who have proven they are a friend. Friends are not perfect. Just reassure her of your love and let her know something must be wrong because you dont seem genuinely happy for me getting the promotion. Maybe she'll confess I'm sorry for being jealous you deserve that promotion please forgive me for being selfish, and only thinking of myself. Now that's a true friend indeed.

Kinda sounds like they work at the same place ("i got promoted and she did not get promoted"). Maybe she worked there way longer and now her friend got the promotion that she was expecting (might even be because she is sucking up to the boss, we don't know the background). God Blessed me to relocate to another state due to job transfer. I have been living in my new state for 3 yrs and my so called friend since 8th grade has not once came to visit me. The bad thing about it she will come to the state that I moved to for different events, but will not come and visit me. She has made plans to come and see me but always come up with excuses to why she can't come. And what really gets me she will text me and ask me about different places to go when she comes down. The last time she did that I told her to Google it. She is not happy that I made it out of the miserable city that I use to live in and she is still residing there. I barely have anything to do with her anymore. Misery loves company.

You need to go beyond that situation. I mean you condoned years of friendship over one incident where u didn't receive the congratulations that u want? On the other hand, did those who let u down at the other times she was there for u, r they the ones congratulating u now? I guess u need to reconsider what u r looking for in a friend and whether u r being fair to her. Maybe she has a slightly different needs of friendship than ur expectations. No harm so long friendship is based upon mutual and similar concepts of the relationship. Fair and square I guess. I just guess that u r a little bit too needy if u r comparing it. I've just realized that I've never had any true friends but my mom. I'm a 40 yr old female and my mom texts me at least twice a day Good Morning hru? I love you. Good night I love you. She's there when I'm happy she listens and understands when I'm not feeling well. A true angel on earth 😇 🙌🏾🥰I conclude that Fair weather and foul weather friends aren't actually friends at all, they're buddies at best. In retrospect I see that even my exes have been nothing more than buddies. Life is not just rainbows, bubblegum and butterflies and If being human and sometimes having human issues is always an inconvenience even a partner doesn't deserve to be called a Boy or girl "Friend".

I know it's really easy to make snap judgements about people when you don't know them. (I'm not being sarcastic here). But this comment section is way too convinced of a single narrative. This nice lady only said a few sentences about the woman and yet a lot of you are convinced you know her. I'd just like to offer up the suggestion that it is possible that the woman isn't as evil as some of you guys are saying. The lady said that her friend was there with no questions when she was going through a tough time. I'm not completely sure, but I think most people that dislike someone's happiness will only show up for 5 minutes to hear the gossip, and then get outta there. The way this lady described it, it seemed she actually helped her and supported her through this tough time, and apparently unlike anyone else. So about the good news reaction...Maybe the friend was going through a hard time, mentally, and feeling really insecure about herself. So she had a bit of trouble being happy for the friend's promotion. It's not great that she wasn't even able to pretend well, but it isn't like none of us have ever experienced the same thing. So she might just not be the person you have been describing. We just don't know enough. And on the other hand, maybe she really is a "fair weather friend". Maybe, she is a bad person. We don't know, but I'm just a bit uncomfortable with how certain a lot of you guys are.
