True friendships don’t expire. Sometimes we hold on to relationships that aren’t there. Some people were never our friend.
@Zinnie988 Жыл бұрын
Let them go, if they meant to comeback, they will, with their own realization that they ghost you on your important milestones and celebrations. Just give the space. If they ask you "hey girl where have you been, oh you just noticed that I am no more there?!?! Did you noticed that you were no show nor support GIRLFRIEND!! So I figured that's it WE EXPIRED!" I chilling. With some friends. No time to waste to wait. If you spare your boyfriends, you need not spare your girlfriends. If you can walk aqay from a boyfriend, fiancé who ain't treating you right, same rules apply to girlfriends too. Done! Khapish?!? 😮

Great wisdom from Steve Harvey again! 1) Friendship has an expiration date. If the milk is stale, let it go. 2) Let the men hunt for you ladies! (and an extra tip that I learned: "Don't get in the habit of collecting red flags." 3) Old is the goal! "Everyday that you wake up is Gd telling you He's not done with you!" Love all of it, thanks Uncle Steve!!!

I had a friend that I was always there for. When her husband was cheating on her, she used to come to my home for solace and to get away for a few hours. Once they parted ways and she got another man and was getting remarried, she just told me she was getting married and did not extend an invitation. A mutual male friend of ours told me some years later that she was always jealous of me because guys always tend to gravitate to me and not her. I was done for life and don’t care how she tried to act friendly, I just considered her someone I know but not a friend. Sometimes you just have to view people through the rear view mirror.

I walked away from a onesided freindship after 2020.....and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Our families had been freinds since I was little, but it was around my 20s when I really thought I was officially a freind to this one person. However as the years went on a clear pattern started to form which always ended with me getting kicked to curve or really hurt by this "freind" yet somehow I always had to pretend to be fine with everything as if nothing was wrong. I would suck it up because our families were freinds and I didn't want to be the one who did damge to all that. Still, as the years went by it became very obvious I was never important to this person. After 2020, in my 30s, I finally hit a breaking a point and just walked away without a warning or goodbye......and I now really wished I had done that sooner. I'm a lot happier now. Its sad that it had to come down to that, but I rather not be freinds at all then repeat that pattern again.

I think Steve could have asked that sweet-16 looking lady to dress a little older. You know, drop the pigtails and wear a gown and heels. That should help. And the guy freaking out about turning 40 is just because there is much in his life that he's not achieved. When you are on schedule with your goals you worry less about your age. The satisfaction of achievements and fulfillments make ageing a positive experience.
@BeautifulOnes8762 жыл бұрын
There’s the flip side…if one can develop an affinity for the gold that life offers through the tough lessons, which are 1.)sage wisdom, and 2.)coming into knowing oneself at a deeper level as to what’s truly valuable to us…what is it we need to do to get ourselves in gear and begin to use our days bring about self-actualization starting from just where we are first. Then, progress step by step from there. The fact is that some of us truly are meant to be late bloomers. Some of the worlds most renowned, successful people did not hit their stride until the mid-40’s. Facts 💯. Check out history. So, 3.) like Uncle Steve said, be grateful, because God is clearly not through with us that we keep waking up. How many people did not make it around the sun as any times as we did? Didn’t get any where near it, their days were cut far too short. We’ve got to count our blessings. That’s what the cliched attitude of gratitude is about. And 4.) change one’s perspective, who keeps saying “age” and “years old”? Why not say I’m 40 Tas or tats (Times Around The Sun), or I’m 40 years young? And OWN that gift. Take control of your mind and you take control of your feelings!

The older I get the more I believe in the saying "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time" Sometimes you just have to accept that some people will never be great friends, and if you keep waiting for them to change their ways, you'll be waiting forever. Let them go, wish them well, move on and make new friends. There are plenty of good people out there.
@creating1_c19992 жыл бұрын
Master Class. We have all kept milk in the fridge past its expiration date. You can use it for baking good breads and cakes or be done with it and pour it out. Either way, you don't have see it as a huge loss because they have already checked out. Even if they are present they might be toxic, like the sour milk. If you struggle with letting people go, that's okay. Just stop checking in. Stop prioritizing them. Reset the boundaries. It's called a 'lock change'. You simply have recoded access. You don't have to change your telephone number unless there is a bigger reason and need to do so. Just stop taking their calls. You are likely moving away they way they've moved away from you already. Trust and believe, they already know you are door mat, so when they cannot wipe their feet on you any longer they will get an immediate alert and try to find out 'what is wrong with you'. It is up to you if you want to tell them. This is something to void if they've habitually line-stepped over the course of the relationship. Just move on. You're a good person, you will find more people. Don't forget boundaries.

Well, with respect, I disagree. I grew up in a nightmare as a child , & as soon as I was old enough, I left & got a job here & there to support myself & all the while, I prayed for my Lord to send me my soulmate. I started attending a large Pentecostal Church, was saved & I kept myself pure still waiting for my soulmate. It took a while, but I realized later that God works in His time; not ours, & one day at a coffee shop, I was just sitting there sipping on my coffee & although many had come & gone, the door opened & I happened to look up & as soon as I saw him, I instantly knew he was the one!! He got his coffee, walked up to my table & asked if I minded him sitting there & I said no. Five months later we were married & come to find out, he also had been praying for God to lead him to his soulmate. Half century later, we’re still together, have 3 grown children with families of their own, & we love each other as much, if not more after all these years. It takes prayer, faith , patience & staying pure, but I truly believe that God has a Soulmate for every person! It’s really sad that you don’t believe that. Lord bless you. 👏🙌🕊
