People selfish man (after reading comments). The man work 2 full time jobs... that's over 80 hours a week not including commute. The man is tired. My husband works long hours. We save those important conversations for his day off. Through out the week hes exaughsted from work so I know I wont have his full attention anyways. When he gets off, he either gets something to eat and goes to sleep or he will play with the kids for an hour... something that isnt serious or thought provoking such as planning Bill's and stuff like that. I usually take care of those type of things tho too to give some type of balance. It just depends on the relationship but if ur man works 2 jobs, what are u doing to help relieve that stress/tension? A man can only do so much.

My suggestion is, allow your husband some time to relax when he first comes home from work. Maybe 30 minutes, maybe an hour. Then try to set aside some time to talk. Turn the TV off, put your phones away, etc. Maybe this could be during dinner time, or after dinner. Then make the choice that for the rest of the evening, you guys will just relax and spend time together.

She didn't really ask the right questions so he didn't give her the answer she needed. She wants to know how they can have couple time / romance AND talk about the bills and the household and the little things going on in life. What Steve was getting at is that they have to schedule it. He can't be selfish and just want to rest on those days. Over time by keeping a date every Saturday to discuss and connect they will get in the habit of just doing that. He also needs to make family time and his marriage a priority.

yeah i felt it really depends on their individual perspective as a parents are. if the guy thinks that his only job is to get money for the family and the wife job is taking care of the kids. it'll be hard as he will think that he dont want to do any of the wife job. if a family is a profit and loss statement the guy is the revenue and the wife is the expense. as the guy he should be keeping in tabs on the expense. which i believe the guy should make some of his free day and talk with the wife.

She's obviously the selfish one. Yes, they both need to be spending time together, but he wouldn't be so exhausted and spread thin if they both decided to work. What she needs to acknowledge she also needs to sacrifice some time. Luckily for me,I'm a visual artist so its easy to work from the house and share time. But if I worked two jobs,we'd probably wake up 2 hours early,both of us... and spend time together before I leave. That's because I'm sure in the evening I'd be too tired to have a fully present conversation with her. I'd be falling asleep mid-sentence for sure. So we'd talk in person early morning, calls during lunch and very briefly before a long day's sleep.

Not entirely, you can schedule honey I'll text you by or before the ,28th of each month about any impt bills text the etc. Thus he can look over it at his leisure (may only take 3-4 mins) during the day. Also, hey for impt social stuff I will text you about the date & activity ahead of time, for u to look over to see if you may have time/energy to confirm u may attend with me. That way, if they get thru some of that stuff by texting/ at least partially, then when they have pockets of time at home, they can attend to catch up & meaningful conversation
