Hi 👋 Phil from Phil, I hope you are keeping safe and well, another great looking piece of art, including branch, inclusions, last weekend I went to the local garden centre and actually looked at some of the olive trees for sale. I coughed and splattered a bit. They started at nearly €1000 in price and went up 2000 odd euros what day is the most expensive?, I’ve told one of my colleagues that are seeing some olive 🫒 trees . He’s got a couple of branches from olive tree that somebody gave him a few years ago back in the UK., The way you are holding the ball on the lays is the safest way, as you are in complete control of it, using the life centre holding up against the piece of wood, I did think about a vacuum shock , but if you’ve got inclusions and holes going to like you have, sometimes you would never fair to hold it, because it would draw the air through the voids, and of course, if you have the right type of head stuck with a hole going through it to connect a vacuum, Chuck set up right, Your why is the only way that is the safest way, Stay Safe, Phil from the moulin France.

Wow Phil that was one fine piece of turning of a very hard piece of wood. My shoulder is hurting just watching you cut it. It looks amazing with those little bonus branches. When you held the bottom side up and showed the branch it looked like turtle sticking his head out. I had a lot of fun watching you do your magic on this one. Take care, Gary

Phil an even lovelier story is a very dear friend's house is on a couple acres bounded by a gorgeous little creek. She is slowly removing the feral species along the creek and replacing with natives. Lots of old Olives. She says I can take what I want. But one of her boys' hobby is making rustic furniture from Olive and I won't interfere with his supply. What he makes is just gorgeous. Authentic old joinery techniques with no metal fixing. I love what he does.

'Flawless' is certainly the right way as you described the bowl Phil. What a delightful grained wood Olive is. You have certainly done this piece 'proud' as you have worked it. I am very glad that you decided to glue the little branch inclusions in place, they each have a beautiful role on both the inside & the outside of the bowl.
