I think a lot of you have 100% missed the entire point. If you HAVE been watching his videos, he's talked about this situation over and over again. For those of us that have been following and stuck with him the past 6 months on Twitch, it's starting to sound like a broken record. 1. IT"S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. He's actually making LESS on Twitch now than he was making on KZbin. It's about community and family. The Twitch community is AMAZING. We get to chat pretty much one on one with Genny and other fans IN REAL TIME. Technology is amazing. 2. IT'S NOT ABOUT BEING LAZY. He streams 8-12 hours a day, 4 days a week. Between streams, hes preparing for streams - doing research, taking notes, preparing the game itself etc. When is he supposed to find time to edit?? Also, hiring an editor can be expensive. His expenses go to paying rent, buying groceries, and making the stream better - did you ever think that that's an expense that he just can't take on right now? If you haven't been watching his Twitch streams, I HIGHLY encourage you to at least hop on there and check one out. They're fun, entertaining, and a completely different animal from KZbin. If you are TRULY a fan of GennyB - you will NOT be disappointed. I promise ;)

I have no problem with him being on Twitch, but I do not watch ANYONE, regardless of the platform, over 1 hour, much less 2-8 hours! - that's insane. I don't have the time.

my only problem with the twitch streaming is that his stream schedule is basically: starts when I go to sleep and ends when I wake up. so I never get to actually watch any of the streams even though I want to. sometimes, although rarely, I do catch the end of his 12 hour streams

Genny, people tend to ask for an archive channel not because they "just don't want to watch the VODs on Twitch", it's because Twitch VODs only last for something like two months for partners. Having an archive channel where you literally just dump the VODs (no editing needed whatsoever) would just preserve the "content" forever. I'm pretty sure Twitch even has an export function in its settings.

I dunno about others, but Twitch VOD buffer times seem to be much longer than KZbin buffer times. "Good" internet isn't really an option given my location, so I usually end up watching KZbin vids on 360p or, in rare instances, 240p. When I attempt to set Twitch VODs to 360p, the buffer times are around what I would get if attempted to watch a KZbin video in 1080p (slideshow quality). The Ads also run in HD no matter what the VOD settings are on Twitch. This turns a 30 second ad into a 5-7 minute slideshow. I respect your decision to not support the site you feel kicked you off their platform (not your fault man), just know that cases like me exist and that it is these cases that are likely writing comments asking you to upload the Twitch VODs here. Have fun with what you're doing on Twitch and don't worry about us here. Thanks for reading, Bob

The major issue about Twitch VODs people can have is that the Twitch mobile app doesn't allow viewing of them, and those with slower Internet speeds can't watch them as high of quality on Twitch as they can on KZbin due to the way Twitch renders any video, live or not, and requiring at least 30 seconds within 45 seconds of trying to render it out or it just outright crashes. Which may seem like a minority to many people, but that "minority" was enough to sway Microsoft to not for the XB1 to require daily checkups or else it locks down to counter cheaters and hackers.

Most Twitch streams grow from the cross promotion from KZbin. I had no idea you were streaming on Twitch until last week lol. I understand it's a lot of work to edit though. Maybe find an editor that likes your content that would work for you and be paid based on what the video makes initially. Twitch and KZbin bounce off of each other really well.

So instead of him editing it himself he should PAY someone to do it for him, at ~$15/an hour for like 10 to 16 hours per stream (watch the whole stream to find the good bits, then spend more time editing a good bits video) to make a video that would earn maybe, MAYBE, $15. Sounds like a Scam because he losses money doing that (earnings of video ($15) minus cost of editing ($150 to $240) equals profit ($-135 to $-225) how about you pay for it).

Lots of twitch streamers cut their videos into 25-30 minute segments and upload them on YT. They slap on a quick intro, or sometimes nothing and just label them ep1, ep2 etc. Civ, RimWorld, Stellaris and lots of other long play series are done this way. But I get it. Genny wants zilch to do with YT these days.

At least then while on mobile I can run them at 1.5-2x speed. Twitch's mobile app sucks for that and desyncs the audio. But that's my opinion. It's GennyB's decision and more power to him.

Wish I could watch streams on twitch. But I get a lot more content out of youtube. I can watch a bunch of different people play a bunch of different games. I wouldnt be able to keep up if I watched everybody whos on twitch now streaming 8-12 hours a day. As much as youtube sucks for some content creators (Although it seems like a lot are having no issues right now) this is where Im staying.

While I respect the decision and you have every right to make it, and I wish you well, you do have some blatantly wrong information. Many, many streamers post their unedited stream VODs on their KZbin and they don't get demonetized at all (unless the VOD contains material that KZbin content-id's like usual). I'm not sure where you got this "KZbin knows it's from Twitch and doesn't like it" but it's simply not correct. Secondly from a technological perspective there's nothing about twitch videos that are special that would enable any form of automatic detection unless you place a logo on it yourself, otherwise it's just a video file like any other, nothing in the file itself would identify it as from Twitch, only the content within the video could do so. I don't know if you were given bad information, misunderstood information, or are lying, doesn't really matter, you don't need this as excuse to justify your decision as there are other reasons that are even more valid/important. @@SjaakV There are channels out there that get more views on VOD than they do on live, although yes they are rare I do agree, however I never claimed that he said that was the only reason, I said "there are other reasons that are even more valid/important", but let me explain what I said above a bit more clearly. He said KZbin knows it's from twitch and doesn't like it. I and several other commentors here took that as in monetization, as that's really the only thing that statement could be referring to. What else crosses your mind when someone says that the platform itself disagrees with the content on it? So what if KZbin doesn't like it, that by itself would affect nothing, the only reason one would even mention or conclude that that would be if KZbin put some form of penalty on the videos, and there's very few penalties KZbin could apply. They can't do a copyright claim (unless the video contains is thought to contain copyrighted data [which we know KZbin is horrible at figuring out]), they could delete the video but that would potentially cause outrage and more creators leaving the site. Demonetization is the only real option for such a "we don't like this content here" punishment. And to apply such a penalty KZbin would need to detect that it's from Twitch, which it doesn't. So if demonetization is not what he was referring to, why did he mention that particular statement, as it otherwise served no purpose in furthering his argument. VODs don't tend to get as many views as the stream, this is a valid reason to not want to bother uploading the VODs. Maybe he just doesn't want to put needless effort into it, as the VOD's can also already be watched in full on Twitch through the Videos page, this would be another valid reason. Maybe he wants to start using this channel as a vlog channel at some point and unlike the spiel above splitting multiple types of content on a channel actually does have an impact on the channel due to the way KZbin calculates channel viewer interest by looking at how many videos on the channel they've watched out of the number posted, posting new content a good part of the community won't watch will lower their percentage of videos view and that affects what they will see in subscription feed. These three are examples are good reasons for not wanting to upload the VOD, and in the original post I wrote "you don't need this as excuse to justify your decision as *there are other reasons that are even more valid/important* ." as a generic statement containing all of them and more.

The most I would think of for posting from streams on to yt would be a bunch of clips, but at the same time completely see where you're coming from in that we should be able to get over to twitch. Maybe I'm uninformed but I'd be interested in seeing some some streams of gangz unturned (might be a bit hard to get enough people together), or bteam hurtworld again (I heard there were a lot of fixes to hurtworld if you want to go back to it).

Yt at least has most of their $hit together to play content with very minimal hiccups. 99.9% of my viewing is mobile. That's the only reason I know this. Genny, I tried using Twitch for a while to view your content - but the thing is - I didn't like it at all. (The content you make is good - I just couldn't handle Twitch) I have subscribed to several KZbin channels and I like having everything in one place. Yes, I might be lazy, but it is just too convenient for me to bother with any other app or website. If you were to upload your streams in full, unedited, I would still watch them! Consider it. It basically is "no effort" to upload a video unedited. What do you have to lose? At least I hope you could try it out for a month or so, just to see how you feel about doing it. What if it turns out to be a win-win situation? 😊

My name is thrive, You were one of the first of my minecraft subs 2nd only to bdubs, I watch a 3 hour unedited twitch VOD every few days called the NLSS on youtube. Now the person that makes that stream could just say HEY YOU DUMMIES i won`t upload my twitch streams but he takes the minimal time and just uploads it raw unedited and about 50k people watch every single video and I wish you could have gone in a similar direction. I don`t appreciate the misleading commentary on needing to edit your stuff and vids only making 15$ because you don`t need to edit twitch VODs and you could make much more than 15$ per twitch VOD. I do appreciate you finally being direct (in a youtube video) with the fact that you will not being doing anything of the sort. Have fun traveling and streaming to 0.04% of your original audience.
