Just got one, haven’t ridden a bike since I was a teenage which was over a decade ago. This thing is awesome and fun. Within the first 3 hours, I was laughing and smiling so much I did 30 miles. The town I live in is 2 miles wide if that tells you anything. Update: over 400 miles, no issues, still holds a great charge, still does 28mph at full charge, I’ve crashed it twice (ran into a fence at 20mph and slid it across the road for a good 60 feet and hasn’t bothered it. I will definitely buy another one if this thing ever takes a shit on me. Money well spent.

I like this bike a lot. I bought mine black Friday 2022. I read the manual (needs help) and changed it from a 3 speed to a 7 speed. The bike also has a walk-a-long mode, so you can easily walk it up hill if you want. The headlight is bright enough that you feel secure at night.

I bought the bike in canada, its selling for about 899 cad, it had a front tire wobble, i went to a bike repair shop and told him the wheel needed a little truing, he was gonna charge me 80 bucks becausethe little wobbleis extremely dangerous when you go about 45 /50 kph , so i contacted the customer service and they sent an entire new wheel, i recommend getting a rear rack with fender and also a different set of lights from amazon, the lights are angled off and i cant put a front fender and light on at the same time, keep in mind im from winnipeg where there are lots of rain and snow. And short summers. Therefore fenders are a must, the bike has been good to me for a month, the chain occasionally comes off so maybe changing the derailleur down the line would help, but hey, i made it to work when the chain came off solely on electric power so kudos heybike.

How is it ?
@lewisedwardson7776 Жыл бұрын
@@Jayr2374 I'm going to get into the problems before I get into the good parts, but I want to preface by saying that I am happy with the bike and I would still totally recommend it as long as it stays at a low price, I even think it's good enough to get a 5-star review from me despite how it arrived. Unfortunately, it arrived with an issue that has apparently happened to a few other people as well. Based on reviews, it seems like it happens 2-5% of the time, and I was one of the unlucky few, granted even 5% is an obscenely high rate for such an error to occur in my opinion. To ship the bike, they attach some plastic spacers to the bike, and one of those spacers sometimes gets stuck in the left side of the axle. The plastic is much weaker than the bike itself, so if the bike actually gets any rough treatment that would have required that plastic to protect it, then the plastic breaks while absorbing the impact, and you're left with a piece of plastic tightly wedged into the axle, with no disc on the outside to grip to pull it out. This obstruction prevents you from inserting the quick release through the axle to attach the wheel to the bike. I got in touch with their phone support, and they redirected me to their e-mail support. Their e-mail support sent me a video that was short and to-the-point, instructing me to insert the quick release rod into the wheel to push out the obstruction. Apparently this worked for most people, but I was particularly unlucky. I rammed it patiently for hours, to no luck. Then I started ramming it as hard as I possibly could, and literally belt the rod all the way over, and still the piece didn't come out. I bent the rod back until it's mostly straight, but it's still got a bit of a bend to it, and I don't feel very safe using it. Their team said they will send me a new wheel and quick release rod, and they said I would be sent a tracking number, but that was 5 days ago, and I haven't received any notification or confirmation yet. Their customer service is Mon-Fri, so tomorrow I will contact them again to make sure they're still sending it. In the meantime, I've got a temporarily solution that is enabling me to use the bike, but I'll feel safer when the new wheel and rod arrive. Despite all of this, as long as they hold up their end and I get the new wheel and rod, then I will recommend this bike, as long as you don't urgently need it and you're willing to take that 5% risk of getting a defective bike and having to wait for a replacement part. I know it might sound weird for me to be happy with the bike after all this trouble, but I got this bike for $600, and I've seen its price vary from $500-700 over the last few weeks, and this is actually a great bike for the cost. It has three pedal assist levels. At 1, it goes 10-11 mph with light pedaling. At 2, it goes 14-16 mph with light pedaling. At 3, it goes 18-20 mph with light pedaling, 21-24 mph with somewhat rigorous pedaling. The throttle seems to keep a consistent 19.8 mph, though I'm not sure if that's because of a limiter or if that's just exactly how fast it can get with this motor. It only takes a few seconds for the bike to get up to 18 mph, and a few more seconds to pass 20. I weigh 215 pounds, so if it can go that fast with me, it will get up to that speed with most people. Before I actually got the bike, I was thinking that 20 mph wasn't going to be anywhere near fast enough and I was expecting to quickly move up to something faster. But it turns out that I would never actually want to go any faster than 20 mph on these run-down bike paths, and even if the motor could do it, I doubt I would want to go faster than 28 mph on the road. Even 24 felt really fast. That being said, the speedometer on the bike is about 5-10% faster than the real speed, which is apparently common for e-bikes. When the bike said I was going 22 mph, my phone said I was going 20.5 mph, for example. With many places legally limiting e-bikes to 20 mph, this is as much power as would be useful. Some places let you go 28 mph, and you're not going to get that with this, even if you pedal really hard. The bike is pretty heavy, and pedaling doesn't make much difference past 20 mph, with it taking a whole lot of effort just to crank out a few extra mph. I rode 9.5 miles before the first bar of charge disappeared, out of 5 bars total, indicating that I will probably get 45-50 miles out of a charge, which is actually BETTER than the 30-40 miles stated on the product description, while it sounds like most bikes overestimate their range. That being said, if I was going everywhere on full throttle, 30 miles sounds accurate, but I am using pedaling assistance as required by local laws, and only used the throttle to do a couple of tests. The suspension is not great. I plan on installing a suspension seatpost, and I'll need to upgrade the front suspension as well. It feels like the front suspension absorbs around 40-60 pounds to full compression. Problem is, if you weigh 215 pounds and you're leaning forward a little bit, that suspension is already compressed, and there's no spring left to absorb impacts. The faux leather handlebars help a bit, they feel nice enough that nothing hurt while I was riding, but after hitting lots of uneven sidewalk blocks, and being forced to jump up and down curbs at sidewalks that didn't have ramps at the right places, a while after I returned home I started to feel it in my hands. If you're heavy and you're expecting a lot of bumps, curbs, or drops, you're going to need stronger suspension, but I imagine the suspension would be plenty for a 140-pound rider riding on mostly smooth surfaces with the occasional bump. The tires seem decent. On a bike this cheap, obviously they won't be top-of-the-line, but they were good enough for me to ride 10 miles in this crappy city without them getting punctured by beer bottles, and I couldn't ask for more. I'm sure I'll buy better tires when the time comes to replace them. It's also a larger bike than I was expecting. The seat is adjustable, so anybody 5'3 and up should be alright, but I think this bike could accommodate someone well over 6 ft. I also suspect that it can withstand a much higher weight than the 264 lb rating, as I was 215 pounds hopping curbs with a backpack on, and the bike didn't complain about it. This is a great e-bike if you want the best thing you can get for the price, and you're willing to take the potential risk of having to talk to customer service to get a problem sorted. The only other sellers with bikes this good for a price like this, are sketchy made-up companies on Amazon that are probably dropshippers who would not provide good support if there were any problems. But this is from Heybike, and if you have any problems, you can actually get in touch with them. That being said, just hope that you aren't one of the 1% of people who have a critical issue with the whole bike. They don't say this on the product page on Amazon where you're told you have 30-day returns, but according to the actual product information that arrived in the box with the bike, you are responsible for covering the shipping cost of returning the bike for a repair or replacement, and that can cost $150-300, e-bikes are not easy to ship. They've got overwhelmingly positive reviews so this isn't a common occurrence, but a few people did have that problem, so if you've got a 1% chance of having to foot a $150-300 bill, then you could kind of average that out and consider it a $1.50-3 price hike. Overall, this bike's best feature is its price, and all other features need to be put into perspective of what you paid for it. You're getting an above average bike for the bare minimum price. Normally $500-600 would either get you a piece of trash, or it would get you a decently well-made bike with a weaker 250-350W motor that can barely hit 13-15 mph, a small frame fit for an adolescent, a small battery that only gets you 10-25 miles, and pretty much no extra features, maybe not even a display. And speaking of display, it comes with a decent display. LED lighting, bright enough to be seen in the middle of the daytime, dullable to be used at night, with a speedometer, odometer, and 3 pedal assist options. It doesn't seem like it has the options most new displays come with for adjusting your max wattage, max speed, pedal assist multipliers, etc, I couldn't find any kind of menu, but I'll talk to support about it. The bike also looks nice. I got the black and yellow, which appears to be sold out now. It's matte black, and it looks a lot nicer than I was expecting. The blue and white, or white and yellow, options, which are the only ones currently available, appear to be shinier, which might be the preference for some, but I like the dull, non-reflective matte black with the accents of yellow, which happens to match my rear rack. I also really like the style of the bike. It looks the way a bike is supposed to look. Other than the very obvious giant battery that is in fact a bit larger than I was anticipating, its body style doesn't look like an e-bike. So if you want your bike to actually look like a bike, then that's a plus, too. Overall? If they were charging their full $1000 pricetag, plus $100 shipping, I would not recommend it. Sure, there are lots of companies selling bikes like this for $2000+, but if you look hard enough, you can find a better bike than this for $900, there are a few of them out there, granted I spent weeks looking at the specs for around a hundred different bikes along the way. But if you can grab one of these for $700 or under, go for it. If you're willing to spend $800+, then you can find some bikes with slightly more battery capacity and more weight capacity, if you look hard enough.

@lewisedwardson7776 Жыл бұрын
@@dustinshutson I hope your experience with the bike is as good as mine. To give an update, the part arrived, I got their wheel and rod on the bike, I've put 500 miles on it, mostly over the last 3 weeks, and it's still running great. The tires are still in great condition, no flats. I was wrong about the range, though. On full throttle, me weighing 210 pounds, plus 5 pounds of cargo, I got 25 miles at mostly 20 mph, dropping down to 16-18 mph when the battery got low, 14-15 mph right before the battery was fully depleted. With light to moderate pedaling in max pedal assist, maintaining 19-22 mph, with traffic, intersections, turns, slight inclines, obstacles, etc, I get 30-35 miles. And if I turn off the pedal assist every time I get up to 20 mph and just pedal for as long as I can until a turn or something drops me down to 15 mph, then turn the motor on to get back up to 20, then I can get 50+ miles out of it. The front suspension is actually pretty good thanks to being able to adjust it, and I installed a $40 YLG oversize seat with suspension. That, the front suspension, and handle grips, is enough that I'm feeling comfortable on long bumpy rides. But now that I've gotten a lot more comfortable riding it for hours in traffic on roads, instead of the torn up sidewalks, I definitely want to step up to a 750W ebike that can keep me in the 25-28 mph range on the road. And if it wasn't for the legal limit, I would probably want more like 30-45 mph.

@@lauraarmstrong-gonzalez3731 If you're already used to doing that kind of riding without a motor, then you'll definitely be able to get enough range with the motor and battery. I used this bike for deliveries, and while there aren't lots of hills in this area, I did sometimes have to go up a steady incline for thousands of feet. I was riding with maximum pedal assist nonstop, pedaling hard and maintaining 20 mph uphill, and still got 25 miles of range. When I'm not in the middle of delivering something and am in less of a hurry, then to extend the battery life, I use PAS and go full motor and leg power up to 20 mph, then turn PAS back down to 0 and go all legs to maintain speed, and when it drops down to 15 mph, I turn PAS back on to help me get back up to 20, and doing that gets me 40-50 miles of range. If I wasn't riding on roads with traffic that pressures me to maintain 20 mph, I might even get 60-80 miles of range out of it, because I can easily sustain speed with PAS only on 25-40% of the time. The downside is that after 21 mph, the bike gets noticeably difficult to pedal, even if you adjust the PAS settings and raise the speed limits. The highest I've gotten it was 25.2 mph, but anything past 23 mph is unsustainable, and getting past 24 MPH takes a monstrous amount of effort. Even if you could pedal 30 mph on a street bike, you'll never be able to pedal 30 mph on this, so if your friends are going insanely fast like that, you won't be able to keep up. But if you guys are cruising along at 12-20 mph, this bike will handle that with ease. And when it comes to hills, as long as you keep pedaling to add torque, it can eat hills for breakfast and barely even slow down.

no one has $500 laying around to get you a bike, I had to sell my old one because i got my hours cut at work and couldn't afford to eat.

Bro you just did a full review and NEVER mentioned a word about the most IMPORTANT part of the damn bike.. THE MOTOR!!! Is it 350 or 500? C'mon man. Some of these jackasses describe their motors af their peak wattage/power. It's suppose to be 500w but there are other re iews that say it's a 350w. That's all I wanted to find out and you dropped the ball on this review bro.

I wouldn't doubt if it were 350 watt with 500 watt peak. Sneaky marketing.

This is NOT a class 2 E-bike for CA. Ca top speed is 20mph, this goes above that

Time for an updated longterm review, Chris. Everyone’s here now because of the Amazon deal.
