This is further discussions and a recap of the new Ranger S from Heybike.
On this channel we test and review ebikes and accessories. Its our goal to help you find the perfect ebike. When we review an electric bike, we don't simply ride it once and make a video, we ride it for 50-100 miles to get familiar with all it has to offer, then we make a video. But we don't stop there, we will make follow up videos as we continue to ride.

When you adjusted the PAS sensitivity you tested using the throttle. Try just pedalling that is where the PAS sensitivity comes into effect not the throttle.

Love the Tobi rides! 💜💕 So far, I’m really liking my Ranger S. I had problems with the PAS giving me whiplash initially, but I contacted Heybike through their chat feature online and figured out how to fix that on the App. **One note-if you select the option to have full throttle at all times, your PAS personalized settings will go back to default.** I’ve got 40 miles on the Ranger S now, and I’m fine with the speed and responsiveness, because I’m not likely to go much over 20mph. Getting too old for that, lol! Anyway, the Ranger S also feels more “plush” than my Magnum Pathfinder, but I like them both in their own rights. The Ranger S is about 10 pounds heavier. I was able to fold it, put it in a 50-gal tote, and slide in and out of the back seat of my Subaru Outback. The bike wouldn’t clear the top of the back hatch. Overall, I think I’d give it a 4.8 out of 5, with dings about not being able to have full throttle regardless of PAS, and not having charge level bars or a USB plug on the battery. Otherwise, this is a perfect bike for me!😊

That's' great. I am over the disappointment about the speed, getting used to the noisy motor, so Its growing on me too. I love how it looks, its fun to ride, so, I am happy overall. AND... You will be happy to know, another TobyCam video drops tomorrow at 9am Eastern.

i figured out if you change throttle speed limiter to yes, set 5 to max 28mph, change it to pas to 5, then you can use throttle only all the way up to 28mph

Yes, I am sure it will. Its a fun bike. Let me know how it goes. Be sure to look at the front brake line and make sure it does not rub on the tire, may need to reroute it or zip tie it.

@@EbikeReviews So far so good. It took Heybike a couple extra weeks to ship and deliver the bike. They claimed they were out of stock even though their website said otherwise. Assembly wasn't that bad. The bike is great and gets me around nicely even though I am overweight but since I have physical and range of motion issues I am hoping the bike will help me lose more weight. The bike goes up and down on the bike path nicely.

How to install your seat post and saddle that you recommend ed

You have to remove the bracket on the bottom of the seat. All you should have left are the two bars that run front to back. You can discard those parts you wont need them. Then on the seat post you loosed the screws up just enough that you can slip the post onto the parallel bars on the bottom of the seat. tighten lightly then adjust the front to back and adjust the angle of the post where you want it. Then tighten down the screws really well.

I am 73 and just got the heybike and wondered how to smooth out response when biking and moving pas to diff levels. Is it the pas sensitivity?

Hey Jen, its 30.4mm However sometimes seat post can come in a smaller size but it includes a sleeve so it fits the 30.4. Just like the ones I use. amzn.to/44ncM02 Its a 27.2 with the 30.4 sleeve insert.

Yes, I believe it was designed that way.

Class two is regulated to 20 mph throttle only. You should be able to get 28 mph in highest PAS & highest gear pedalling hard!!

Thanks for the great videos and discussion! Im looking for a folding ebike to throw in my car and ride from my car to my office. I have hills where i am but nothing more than 10°. Top speed of 20mph is fine for me. Also riding in rain and snow. In your opinion would the Ranger S be a fit? I'm hoping to save money on parking.

The Ranger S is a great bike in many ways. The 20X4 inch tires are nobby and should work well in the snow, but not ice. As for riding in the rain, most ebike manufactures will tell you not to get them wet. However most will do fine in a light rain. My concern about the Ranger S is the battery compartment is on the top side of the down tube, which could allow for some water to get into the battery compartment. I would look for a bike that has the battery inside the tube where it folds, or one that has the battery compartment on the bottom side of the down tube. Most wiring connections are waterproof, the next concern would be the display and motor. All are sealed up well, so again a light rain should be fine, but not a heavy rain. The Ranger S does fold very smoothly, but its still a bigger size bike and that makes it bulky. Hope this helps. A lot of people in the RV community that travels a lot with folding bikes opt for the Lectric brand. They are a little lighter, fold easily and easier to store away. Something like that may be a better design. I hope this helps.

Brian, after looking at the battery compartment and how the battery sits into it, its probably fine in a light rain. So really it comes down to the 72 lbs of weight getting it in and out of your vehicle.
