Amazing build. Impressed by your attention to detail. This is a professional Job, where all aspects have been brilliantly executed. This video took me on a walk down memory lane when i built my first ebike from scratch 2 years ago. Thanks a lot. Also, if i may offer a few suggestions. 1. At Speeds exceeding 40 kmph please make sure that your front wheel is double rimmed and rated for 50 kph. 2. As 0.15 *8 mm nickel strips have been used, it would be better to double up the nickel on the battery positive and negatives. 3. I lost my first battery back 10s6p due to non implementation of individual battery fusing. One cell went bad and took the rest in parallel with it. Great work, your video inspired me to upgrade from 36 kph to at least 60 kph.
@randomshizxle56533 жыл бұрын
can you build a good ebike for under 500£?
@hyrochinz3 жыл бұрын
@@randomshizxle5653 If max speed of 36 kmph with a 350 watt hub motor and a 36 volt 12 ah battery( 50 km range with pedal assist)is considered a good ebike than yes. My build cost me around 360 GBP including the Btwin steel frame. However in this video a high performance system has been built, which pushes the price up.
@DonnyTerek3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! A comment like this is highly appreciated. Glad to see you pointing out the details on my build. 1. With the upgraded parts, I now have a much stronger front hub, laced to a DT Swiss E-Bike rim. 2. I haven't shown that in the video clearly, but I did double the nickel on the negative and positive. 3. Since this is my first battery build, I have learned a lot from it. Individual battery fusing is definitely the way to go. Thank you once again. Amazing to see that I inspired you to upgrade. Stay safe and enjoy the rides.

Like anything, if it comes too easy is it really worth it? The harder you work on a project the more you will respect, learn and love it. This i promise you If this looks too difficult just simplify some steps (costs more but what's your time worth?) Buy a pre made battery ( I build my own usually for projects but I found one for a great price ready to go Get a 3 phase motor controller online ( some youtubeing will send you in the right direction, than pickup a motor, take note on how your going to be driving the bike ( hub motors need to be spoked "laced" and bottom drive motors need to be mounted or have brackets added ) They both have their pros and cons, Do realize it is a bit of a learning curve mocking things up and getting It dialed in but in the end its better built than bought, good luck !

@mikedesverknopf46813 жыл бұрын
And it's not cost effective for the time he gets out of it. He should add solar. But as of right now, he is stressing his batteries, decreasing their life dramatically by using the max current and voltage in such a short time, invested over what. $2-$3 a battery? Plus all other parts? $380-$480 easy for something he can use for 30 minutes max 30 mphfor maybe a year before having to drop another $300? No sense. Not to hate, just saying it's not as incredible as you make it sound. There are many things to be improved on with his design. Longevity, weight, size, power and other things. Here's an idea: try making tube shaped batteries (4 stack positive, negative flip) INSIDE the bikes frame, using an angle grinder and a welder so you can add A LOT more batteries and they would be CONCEALED and weight will be spread out evenly. As for solar, you could put a panel on your back (the thin ones 250 watt ) and ride East in the morning and west in the evening. You could add twice as many batteries for a total of 1600 watts total storage and use them for a full hour without charging, but with 200 watts reduced from the total load, it would come out to be 1300 watts load being drawn from the batteries at twice the amperage allowance (twice the batteries, maybe more) but safely ensuring use of it would be not only twice as long, but safe for the batteries and DRASTICALLY improve the life of them, thus saving money in the long run as well as reducing pollution from recycling the batteries. Maybe twice the life time so $600 every 3 years at 1 hour of continuous use a day, and $600 every 4-6 years at the current usage time just by increasing capacity and adding solar to charge as you use and reduce the required load for the same application. You're welcome!

Please watch out for cracks in the frame! Or change it! My frame (exact same aluminium bike) broke with a 1500W hub motor. Took 3 years and over 20000 km, but it eventually did. Alive by God's grace. Switched to a ChroMoly recumbent bike frame. Pure awesomeness.

this model is speed PAS not torque sensor... just little difference. Torque sensor good for ebike, speedsensor cool for speedbike with handle trottle 🤷♂️ in my mind. I'm mounting both technos. Torque sensor more economic for battery energy because no way to be assisted without a little work. Speedsensor consum more and give a free wheel feeling in the crank wheel, but can go faster easyly... Depends of waitings
