Ok, so here is part of my issue/question with this....Instagram as an entity isn't REALLY supposed to be about all this intense, drawn out in-depth content bc well, it is INSTA-gram. The idea is that you post something that people will enjoy and you are connected with people bc of similar tastes and likes. Yes, they want you on the platform longer so they can advertise to you more BUT I am struggling to see the value in creating all this content when the purpose of the app is to scroll and like...scroll and like etc. How are you supposed to have these connections with people when Reels is less then 30 seconds, videos are less then a minute and simple likes are no longer valid. I am no longer going to put hours into posts that have no value to the algorithm. I struggle to see where the connection truly is on this platform other than with the advertisers. I would rather use IG for fun and then put my energy into videos for YT or even IGTV and hope that my tribe will slowly build there. Everyone talks about connection and tribe on IG but it isn't fostered by the algorithm or the features offered. Sorry, I get frustrated even tho I know what you are saying makes sense. Yes, of course connection and tribes are key and as well as good content but is it possible on a INSTA platform?? I wish you would stop beating yourself up over that post. That photo of you and your friend said more about you to me than the last 50 videos you have made. Fuck the algorithm and its shitty ways....it doesn't understand the humanity of that image and THAT my friend, is the core of your value and the essence of you as a human being and a kind soul. Completely agree re: instagram algorithm. It’s actually become more stressful to deal with. Especially for really small accounts. I’ve decided to put more effort in our YT channel (me and my husband). Much more rewarding.

I am willing to do the work in a learning curve but on a platform where I have a chance. Also, it doesn't change who and what it wants to be every 6 months.

My KZbin account was permanently terminated with no prior warnings. Google had me change my password three times in a few weeks, said my password had been compromised, Gmail shut my email account completely a few weeks later with no warning. I guess due to their lack of security. Apparently someone must have posted or done something under my account, no kids, in my house, I’m the only one with access to my passwords.Because of their failure to keep my passwords safe I am being punished for their ineptness. They make it impossible to contact them, they want a URL address. I never had any subscribers so no URL to file an appeal. Think this is censorship because I may have agreed or hit a like button, didn’t know that was a crime. Did get a number and spoke to one man he gave me a case number but said he was a tech guy and could Not get involved 😳. He said he would make a note .

Instagram was originally for things that don’t ad value. It was or still is to show you off and that is what the big audience want. They want see bodies. Now that Instagram has come up with different types of account, we can reach a small niche that wants some value. I hope it grows enough to be a direct competitor of KZbin. If you want to achieve the biggest KZbin niche, you’ll have to put away your enthusiasm to produce interesting content in order to create gossip and others futilities, cos is what make KZbin earn money. It as become like our traditional TV.

I am not sure non business instagrammers should head for content that makes people happy. You should find a compromise between what people want to see and what YOU want to create.
