wait... Kyou and Kagami both means Mirror... Kyou Fujibayashi from Clannad shares some similar characteristics, personality and relationship as Kagami Hiiragi from Lucky Star. Kyou is a Tsundere and she has long violet hair and is paired with her twin sister Ryou which has short hair and has a Dandere type of personality. Kagami is also more of a Tsundere type in the show and she has long purple hair which is a li'l lighter like lavender and is paired with her twin sister Tsukasa which has short hair and also has a Dandere type of personality. So,nobody noticed the nickname they used for Kagami (Kyou-chan) is the name of one of the Clannad purple-haired twins which, coincidentally, was released around the same time-frame as the Lucky Star manga began? Dunno if a coincidence or not that they used THAT name for a nickname. Also, I still have to argue how big of a coincidence does it have to be for both Lucky Star and Clannad to have purple haired twins (both being a subdued little sister and a tsundere older sister at that). I mean, the Lucky Star manga came first but only barely as Clannad was released just 3 months after Lucky Star began being released,and both anime shows were animated the same year (2007). That's one hell of a coincidence.

I bet that you're right. VN Clannad has been released in 2004, manga Lucky Star has STARTED in 2004 and there is not only the first volume of it in the anime. And Lucky Star is a parody anime. Also, in Clannad my favourite is Kyou and in Lucky Star my favourite is Kagami. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Not really, you just have a lot of options since you can use different readings of a kanji, cut a bit of the name change consonants around (kaga) (habapa). The funny thing is that just like in this example the one being called by a nickname can often not recognize it because it differs so much from the original verbally (kagami kyou) For the same reason when you order stuff at food stands that use the system of calling your name when your stuff is done, they specifically say you should write your name in hiragana or katakana (syllable writings)
