The important part about this scene is that it was 50% original from Kyoto Animation, this did happen in the manga, but the slow pace and the flashbacks were all from Kyoto Animation. Man, I love Kyoto Animation so much.

@@fe723 yup,Konami has the habit of making voluntary improvement in the source material with the writers permission and ususally it turns out as good as lucky star does.

Chuunibyou is another good example of that, they even created a whole new character (Dekomori) exclusively for the anime and gave her a major role during the series. Yet i think it's K-On where they excelsed in creating new content and making it infinitely better than the source material.

6:17 How to tell a sad yet beautiful story in five seconds and three scenes with no words. First scene, they're about to have a fun time at the beach. This is likely one of their first dates together. Then it's clearly later in the day and they're heading out while Kanata is holding a napkin over her mouth, indicating her illness is getting to her. Soujirou is looking on at her in concern. It's implied that Kanata pushed herself because she wanted to enjoy this beautiful moment with Soujirou but Soujirou would rather she didn't push herself so hard with her health being what it is. Then they're heading home, Kanata falling asleep on Soujirou's shoulder. Despite it their day at the beach being mired by Kanata's chronic illness, it was still a good day and the two are still very close and very much in love.

Since there were 24 episodes, and just about all anime have 12 episodes in 1 season, I guess the first half counts as the first season and the second half is the 2nd season. Otherwise a season 2 with 24 episodes would be like having 4 seasons (which I wouldnt mind, I love this show)

On my most recent rewatch, I really took notice of the flashback sequences, and how pivotal they really are despite being so short. What do they show? Soujiro and Kanata walking together, eating lunch, sitting in class, going to the beach, stopping in at book/anime stores, just enjoying each others time together. Which, if you notice, is just some of the stuff the main cast gets into for the past 22 episodes. It really says _this_ is what life is all about. These little moments that may not seem like much at the time, but will become unforgettable memories down the line. This lovely scene is a recapitulation of everything the show is about. About highlighting the little details of everyday life, and that the smallest bit of time together with a friend can be worth so, so much. And its why people who say Lucky Star "has no story" really didn't get it. I love it. I love this show so, so much.

@Corvo@AZ It's the closest English translation of 'Lolicon'. Lolicon basically means you like little girls. Noteworthy in that it doesn't have to mean sexually, just an...unhealthy fixation. That's what the joke about him marrying someone so short and young looking is about.

This just reminded me that one scene where Konata gets all Ara ara and gentle and when the twins tried to imagine what she’d look like all proper they were basically just imagining Konata’s mom

8 minutes, no, even less than 8 minutes is enough to show how much this man loves his wife so much. And could you even imagine how much pain he suffered when he lost her.

Everytime I come back to this video it's 2010 again, there's just so many beautiful feelings it makes me feel so overwhelmed and process all the stuff that happened in my life since the first time I watched, it's just truly touching and inspirational.
I don’t know why, but this scene gets WAY too close to bringing me to tears

Lucky star used to be my favorite anime back then. I still fondly remember how I watched this anime so many times, the daily life moments portrayed never got old for me. This scene also came out of nowhere in the anime, usually it has more relaxed and funny scenes. glad youtube recommended this to me. Nostalgia hitting me in the feels

When I first heard of this anime I was like “meh, it’s just a plain overhyped slice of life.” But this scene has convinced me to actually watch it seriously. The humor is top notch and the fact that they can work a serious scene into it seamlessly is amazing. I can’t wait to start after I finish Parasyte: The Maxim.

wow that was a very wholesome and genuine scene. it felt realistic and sad throughout and ended on a light, funny tone to carry on the good times. but never forgetting the people we love. i always thought of lucky star as a-fool-around, geek anime. but even in lucky star, people are still struggling and prevailing.
