There is also an exposure lock button on the front of the manual shutter release. Very useful in A mode.

Great review..I just recently purchased a F3, had to replace door seals and mirror flip bumper. I bought a AI 50mm 1.4 lens to use and it’s been fantastic. Mine also came with a motor drive, it’s definitely a beast. I’m going to have to check the battery compartment to see if the screw cap is there as mine didn’t have one. Great camera 📷

I just got mine from my local film shop for more or less $400. I don't know if you could buy this camera for below a $100 a few years ago but given the history, I do get why it still is expensive to this day.

That's strange I have that same table/chest thing in the backround. Thanks for the video, wanting to get back into film photography and I have a f3 with a 50mm 1.4 Zeiss glass, hoping to take some stunning photos.

I love that chest. Bought it at a yard sale years ago.

You can also shoot with the md4 just as a lr44 alternative by leaving it in the locked position and using the F3 shutterrelease and manually winding the film on this might stretch the aa batteries usability however if you use rechargeables you also don't risk batteries leaking into the F3 or md4 as you would with alkaline lr44 or AA batteries

i just got the Motor Drive for mine and i dont feel like its too heavy . in my DSLR i ofthen use flash and a 85 mm lens so i put a parachord strap to my F3 and works just fine . Great Video =D .
@cc7cc105 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Heredia Cabuto I kind of disagree, I believe it is heavy. On the other hand, I never take it off the camera, I just love the very firm grip you get with it. The camera by itself is rather hard to handle, it feels like is going to slip out of your hands at any moment, with the motor drive though, it feels very secure. A lot of times, I use it without batteries, just for the added grip.

Hi, X is a shutter speed setting of 1/80th and is used to provide proper synchronisation with flash units other than the SB-12. If anybody watching is buying one of these, heres the manual in PDF format cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/archive/F3.pdf Thanks!

Hi. I have a question. I own this same setup. When I turn on my motor drive, it will not release shutter until I activate camera. ( when it starts to show time in viewfinder). When it’s disappearing, the motor drive can’t release shutter. Is it normal? Thx.
@DaveMontejano6 жыл бұрын
klabton why would you want the shutter to fire when the camera is off?
@klabton6 жыл бұрын
Maybe its my bad explanation... My steps: 1. Turn camera on. 2. Turn motor on ( S or C ). Wait untill the time disappear on the LCD inside viewfinder. And than i can't use motor button. I need to touch camera shutter button, to activate lightmeter, or I need to press for a sec. battery status button on motor back.
@DaveMontejano6 жыл бұрын
klabton klabton I think I get it now. There might be something wrong with your shutter button on your motor. You should be able to wake up the camera by half pressing the shutter button on your motor. Also check and clean the connecting pins under the camera. Maybe you don’t have good contact from the pins that connect to the camera. I hope I understood what your question was.
@klabton6 жыл бұрын
Ok. So this is not working in my camera. Thank You. I will try to clean pins, or I will visit NPS.. :)

Do you think I pay more for this purchase Nikon F3 $410.23 F3 mint condition 50mm 1.4 28mm 2.8
@jbnitpou99423 жыл бұрын
If this F3 is really top mint, it’s a normal price with these 2 lenses. I pay mine 340 USD on eBay (Japan dealer) with a Nikkor 50mm AIS 1.4, so ...... not so bad.

The F3 was (allegedly) the camera that took the first photographs (from a helicopter) of the Chernobyl disaster. Some of the original images had white spots on them from the massive radiation.
@HoLeeChit117 жыл бұрын
Dude these cameras can go for about $300 -$400 if in mint condition, body only, add a 50mm F1. 4 to that and you're looking at the thick end of $500. So how much did you pay, and would you class yours as " mint".
