Having grown up in the Slocan Valley, yes Nelson is a hippy town or bohemian if you like. Also the Balfour ferry is awesome.

That glass house looked really cool! I have not heard of a house being built out of bottles before. It's like taking the "99 bottles of beer on the wall" song to a whole new level, lol! I'm glad you have been having a great time out in the Kootenays so far!

Haha, that would be the longest song ever. 🎶 500,000 bottles of embalming fluid on the wall 🎶

Nelson is such a fantastic little city! You'll have to head out to Rossland on your next West Kootenay trip. A fantastic small ski town with some amazing locally owned shops, restaurants and cafes - including one owned by my family! It has always reminded me of a smaller version of Nelson

Searching for baby boy names while exploring during a thunderstorm? Well then clearly the name of choice is Thor. As in Thor Heyerdahl the Norwegian adventurer! Oh, and that God of Thunder dude too.🔨⚡ That looks like a lovely area to get away from it all for a while. 😊

Haha a solid name choice!!

When my now ex-wife and I were trying to pick out baby names, we came up with an idea. She wrote an alphabetical list of names she liked, I did the same. Then we traded lists and put stars next to the names we liked from each others lists. The more stars next to a name, the more we liked that name. Then we created another list of all the names with stars only and we were able to filter down to an agreed upon name for our kids.

Nice!! What did you get up to in Nelson?
@samanthahillburhop5813 жыл бұрын
Oh my, let me think. In the summer of 1978, I was pregnant with my oldest daughter (who will soon be 43 in December) the x-husband & I camped out & drove around the lake. It was my 1st trip to British Columbia Canada. My husband (been remarried 20 years now) is a snow skier, so we usually go up to Kamloops/Sun Peaks, Whistler or the ski places above Vancouver to ski.

@@heynadine That's my brother's birthday so I can remember that. Apparently Canada has a lot of porcupines. Judging my Google searching it doesn't look like the club is around anymore or has changed names. Take care
