I went to Jasper last summer it was very quiet and sometimes eerie! I'm not at all surprised that you guys had no trouble finding camp ground. But that's what makes it my favorite national park ever. It is not at all infested by tourists (yet).

It is great to see that you guys got to hike with some great views. I bet that the sleep deprivation played into the hiking fatigue a lot. At least Clifford got you through it! The fire damage looks to be healing well. The worst I have seen is Mount Saint Helen's 11 years after the blast. We came around the corner and had to stop for 20 minutes to process the devastation. Nothing but flattened tree trunks to the horizon. The date was August 6th! 😥

Don't know if they were the same fires that caused what you were looking at but when we were here around this time in 2017, BC was having it's worst year of wildfires to date (as of 2017) and there was so much smoke in the sky you wouldn't really know there were any mountains there. Can't believe how different Mount Robson, Medicine Lake and Maligne Lake look in your video compared to what we saw!

If you have ever hoppity, hoppity, hopped like a bunny rabbit. Then you know how to pronounce Wapiti, wapiti wop. I have stayed in the tent site at Wapiti and they are very nice as the sites are far apart and you feel away from civilization. It just too bad you didn't get to stay there. The mountain air is so refreshing in the morning. Jasper has some excellent outdoor adventures and hikes and is amazing after a winter snowstorm. Especially Maligne (maa lean) canyon. Jasper is definitely the "joe lunchbucket" friendly of the National Mountain Parks. Banff is the opposite. In the 80's I bought an auto tour using cassette tapes through the Icefield Parkway and the Banff to Yoho/Glacier highway. One of the best things I have ever done on vacation. The history, the stories, characters, and the highlights that you experience make the drive absolutely wonderful. Apparently, it still exists but from a different company as an app using your phone and GPS. The company has many tours from all over the world. I am not sure if it is good as the one I experienced but it is very inexpensive compared to the $40 or so dollars I paid back then. I can honestly say that if you have not travelled the Icefield Parkway, as a Canadian, before you die you have not seen Canada.

Nice vlog Nadine and Matt. How far delayed was this vlog? I work at the skywalk along the icefields parkway, wondering if you visited and I missed you guys come through. If you want any advice on hikes in banff or jasper NP to do feel free to ask me. Also bear bells don't work well as bears dont associate them with humans and you talk louder then them. So of your going on more jokes best to get bear spray and look into what to do if you come across a black vs grizzly bear. Otherwise have fun on the icefields parkway!

So if you can take your mask off to eat, what's the point of wearing one at all? Unless of course, you can hold your breath the entire time you're eating... btw, this is NOT a comment on you guys specifically wearing masks! Just a commentary on the severe lack of logic with these mask rules. Of course you should obey the laws/rules wherever you go, no matter how ridiculous they may be!
