Here's our best attempt at recreating the Fold-Out Big Ben Scenery from the beloved Stratford Festival production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Iolanthe."
This theatre set design mimics the look of a pop-up book on stage.

Pete! So cool to find your channel. I'm a professional magician, the last few years I got into scenography and propmaking and I'm loving it; but covid messed up my technical skills training quite significantly, so I'm trying to catch up on what I missed out. Do you have any resources/favourite books or advice for learning more about propmaking/set design?

Is the box also on wheels? If so, do they have to lock so it doesn't move when the actors step on it?

Hi there. Yes the box is on wheels, but when the outside crate facade is lowered to the ground it stops the whole thing from rolling around, so there isn't really a need for locking wheels.
