As some who would travel from Cincinnati to Dayton monthly I saw this thing a lot. We used to call it, "touchdown Jesus". The new version of the statue has its arms reaching out in front. We now call it the, "I caught a fish this big Jesus". It was also though it was ironic that there was a Hustler Store at the same exit off the highway.

Mr. Banks!! my mom has been telling me about the statue for years. we Googled to research the nickname 'big butter' and discovered you!! and I can't remember a time we've laughed so much! my mom has had a crazy year health wise, so seeing her laugh til she is in tears is such a gift to our family. by now if I whisper big butter in her ear or hold up a butter container in a store that wonderful laughter comes right back. so from the bottom of my heart, thank you thank you thank you! we look so forward to seeing you in person one of these days. again, thanks for the joy you've given us. it means everything : ))

OMG , i mean OH JESUS my little sister just called to say she was driving to Dayton for a holiday visit and just had to let me know she saw THE BBJ live by the expressway. I have a friend who was a firefighter for the city that responded to the 911 calls.
