The IDF should consider pumping in sea water from the Mediterranean, an unlimited supply, into those tunnels. Regardless of the number of levels to those tunnels, that water will find the lowest levels. They will be forced out as the water rises.

@mariafernandez6439 Please understand, I'm not suggesting that the water be pumped-in at such a quick rate that it would drown the hostages, but at a rate that it would give their captors enough time to think things over so as to cause them to come out of those tunnels. I do apologize for abbreviating my initial comment too much, thereby giving folks a wrong impression. You see, even if IDF soldiers go deep enough into that underground maze, there are no guarantees that the hostage takers won't shoot it out with the IDF in the midst of those hostages. However, in the final analysis, there are sadly no guarantees all the way around. The Munich Olympics Massacre in 1972 bears ample truth to that sad reality. Islamist terrorists are always ready to kill their hostages if they realize that they are irretrievably cornered and their game is up. The rising water will force them to move upwards because most people are more readily willing to take a bullet rather drown in a dark tunnel. It is a sad psychology, but it is a statistical truth nevertheless.
