Thanks Bruce. This is very helpful for someone who wants to build this attachment. For parts, this is what I picked up from this video. 1 ft of 2 in ID pipe to sleeve onto tire changer, 1 ft of 2 in OD Square Nesting Tube for horizontal, 1 ft of 2 in OD Pipe vertical that duck attaches to, 3 in of 2" square ID nesting tube, , 3 in of 2 in ID pipe for vertical sleeve interior, small piece of steel plate to mount duck, outdoor faucet handles, nuts, bolts, duck, and centering cone. Thanks again Bruce.

Thanks for sharing this. I changed out some 225/50r17 tires yesterday using the standard changer. It wasn’t to bad but this looks like it would have made the job much easier. It looks like the duck foot would protect the wheel from getting damaged during the removal and installation, is that correct? Btw: I bought my tire changer for $32 utilizing the 20% coupon.
@BruceLyeg

Hey Scott. I used the tire changer as I bought it a bunch of times before making the addition. It works but the mod made it about 75% easier to use and yes, the duck saves your rims from scratches.

you dont need a duck head. best way to not scratch or damage the rim edge is simply to turn the rim upside down with the face pointing downwards. Just cut a hole in a rubber mat and place it on the top surface of the harbor freight tire changer. When working on the backside it doesn't matter if you get some minor scratches
@BruceLyeg
@BruceLyeg Жыл бұрын
The duck head does more than prevent scratches. Most importantly it makes removing and installing the tire much easier. Auto correct almost got me there. It tried to change “Duck head” into “Dick head” hahahahahah

Thanks! I thought about making them and selling them, but the amount I'd have to charge to make it worth my time would be too much. There is a guy who makes and sells them, his are even nicer than mine and he's the guy I got the centering cone from. Lucid Autowerks, tell him Bruce from YT sent you, maybe he'll give you a deal. I've sent a lot of people to him lol lucidautowerks.com/products/m...

@@BruceLyeg his prices are Ridiculous. It's Probably cost $50 in steel and $100 labor?
@BruceLyeg
@BruceLyeg 4 жыл бұрын
@@anonymous-ql9ep Yep, it cost me around $50 for the steel, $15 for the duck head and maybe another $20 in misc materials. It's the cutting and welding that takes the time. His prices are pretty high though. He wanted to charge me $50 to chip the centering cone to my place. I had a friend that lives near him order it for me and ship it to me for less than half of that.
