Harbor Freight Manual Tire Changer
Hunter style duckhead / duckbill attachment.
** EDIT 25-APR-2022 **
************************************
See the materials list below if you plan to build your own duckhead attachment.
*****************************************************************************************
1/8” thickness steel
2 3/8” OD round tube (2" Schedule 40) cut to 11.5 inches - line the inside with some antifreeze jug plastic
1” OD round tube cut to 13 inches (prefer cold rolled tube 1 x 0.120 for this part as it's true 1" OD. Otherwise 3/4" Schedule 40 can be used)
1 3/8” round tube cut to 3 inches (I think this is 1" schedule 40)
1 3/4” square tube cut to 4 inches (file down the inside weld)
1 1/2” square tube cut 11.25 inches, then notch to fit around the 2 3/8 round tube.
3/16” thickness 2 inch flat stock, trim for duckhead flange.
1/2” x 1” bolt and nut (1)
3/8” x 3/4” bolts and nuts (1)
5/16” x 1 1/2” bolts and nylon lock nuts (2) + flat washers (4)
1/4” Linchpin (1)
Replacement duck head
Hunter style (red)
www.amazon.com/dp/B00LC4MLPK/...
Corghi style (black)
Search for “Corghi duck head” in eBay
I’m using an old 510063 bearing race as a centering cone. For larger hub wheels I just bolt the wheel to the stand to keep it centered.
Harbor Freight 24 inch tire iron
SKUs 93230, 61603
The rim/bead clamp is helpful for holding down the tire when installing but not totally necessary.

Very very nice best one I have seen yet. Maybe add a sliding movable devise with a tightener on main shaft of the duck bill devise to hook the tire bar into when removing the tire so you dont have to use 2 hands. This might work but not at all necessary but it would make this one stand out even more than all the others if it did work!

Your design looks easier to use than the other designs that utilizes a vertical duckhead mount. It keeps the tire from rubbing as well. What angle did you use on the pipe mount for the duckhead?
@enricopolazzo33

It’s about a 15 degree angle. The duckhead still sits vertically. The duckhead mounting flange is welded on at the same opposing angle. Thanks for watching

Great looking mod. Would you mind explaining why you chose to make an angled bar for the duck head vs. a vertical one (like most other manual tire machine mods)? One of the commenters on this video said your angled mod looks easier to use than a vertical mod, but I'm not understanding how your angled mod is easier to use than a vertical mod? Would you mind explaining why yours is easier to use?
@enricopolazzo33
@enricopolazzo33 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not really easier other than being more compact and comes in less contact with the tire. The angle also keeps the horizontal arm shorter while still being able to do a 22 inch rim. Also fits in a usps flat rate box. Next ones I make may not have the angle but I still want to ship them cheap.

@acke26
@acke26 Жыл бұрын
you dont need a duck head. best way to not scratch or damage the rim edge is simply to turn the rim upside down with the face pointing downwards. Just cut a hole in a rubber mat and place it on the top surface of the harbor freight tire changer. When working on the backside it doesn't matter if you get some minor scratches
