I think the key to a financially successful park is to have a lot of different species. Adding more of the same species has diminishing returns when it comes to park rating, and having a higher rating will get more guests in the door. Another thing to consider is that guests won't venture deeper into the park until you add shops, restaurants, and toilets in those areas. I hope this helps!
