High humidity and moisture can be a serious problem in many locations. Discoloration and rust can require costly shutdowns while ceilings are replaced. Made of high grade vinyl, HG Grid suspension system is the low cost, long lasting solution to this difficult situations.
The quick lock keyhole system makes for easy installation, much like traditional suspended metal grid systems. Rust and corrosion is eliminated in any environment with HG Grid including bathrooms, kitchens, food manufacturing, swimming pools and exterior applications.
HG Grid has been given a Class A rating under ASTM E 84. Installation is similar to conventional systems. In both 2x2 and 2x4 layouts, the mains are installed 2 feet on center. With a 2x2 tile layout the cross tees are placed every 2 feet and in a 2x4 system, the 2 ft. tees are installed every 4 feet. After balancing the room and determining your border tile sizes, you’re ready to pull your string line across the first row. Repeat this step for the opposite border tile size.
Snap a chalk line along the wall at the desired level of ceiling drop and install the angle molding along the chalk line. Install the hanger wires every 2 feet on center where the mains will be installed. Cut your first main for the border tile
Measure in from the first keyhole and cut at the board dimension. Install this main along the first chalk line so the keyhole is aligned with the intersecting border tile chalk line. Continue to install mains linking them by sliding the connector clip over the abutting ends of the main. Install the subsequent rows of mains 2 feet on center. When the mains are installed, snap in the tees. They keyhole operation makes this process easy. Just insert and push down to lock. When installing the tees makes sure the bulb on the tee is facing outward.
For future ceiling and plenum access, the cross tees can be easily removed and reinstalled without damage. For border areas, just measure and cut the tees to length with your tin snips. With the tees in place, you’re ready to place the tiles to complete the job.

What about slopes or angles

HG-Grid is not recommended to be used for sloped ceilings. For angles, run mains and cross tees 24-inches on center like normal and terminate at wall brackets. Measure and cut grid components as required.
