Glad you enjoyed it. Bandai used to do magazine add-ons in the 2010s. I'm guessing because physical media is a dying medium that Bandai just doesn't do that anymore

Interesting, never knew this existed. A lot of these magazine kit add ons go under my radar even though I have one myself. Unfortunate about the lack of colors for unexperienced builders, but I doubt they have this kit. Thanks for the review

There's been only one conversion-turned-model kit and that's the hecking Gundam Astraea. It's also a niche Mobile Suit from a *LIGHT NOVEL* of all things. It makes sense it's monocolor

Base Freedom is my favorite of any Strike/Freedom lineage/variant, but the versatility of this kit I think changes my mind on that.

In my personal opinion, I love the way that things like this look unpainted, it has a weird kinda charm that I enjoy. I can say the same about vintage kits and sdex kits

Man I love it when Hobby or Dengeki includes conversion kit with their mags. Best one I had was the HG Exia to HG Astraea conversion kit. Dont remembwe if it's Hobby or Dengeki though.

Just to make it clear, I did not topcoat my Freedom Revive just to undo my work. I took the opportunity to touch up the original copy I got from way back when, and bought a new one for this video. Glad you like it though, happy to bring more obscure kits into the public spotlight

Was under the impression this kit (and magazine) was out of print. Have 2 sets of the parts that are for the Wing Gundam honoo but still reserving them till I get better skilled at painting.

You're right. I only got my copy from Suruga-ya and managed to dig up an instruction manual from an online listing that no longer exists. Well, at least you won't have to fear messing them up after you got the necessary practice

I've actually got the weapon set and hg freedom kit needed for it lying around. I just need to grab paint for them. Any tips for painting the kit

Regardless of the means you go about it, priming the kit is a must, at best with pink primer, otherwise the colors won't turn out as sharp. You need to be on top of your masking game, otherwise the red will bleed into the white paint. For the smaller areas though, try hand-painting them. It's not worth mummifying the parts just to spray the small bits into a certain color.

Looks like the blades are mercury lev parts (It’s from Gundam bf amazing, tatsus friend Toru made this custom part by himself that is like a Swiss Army knife)

They aren't Mercury Lev parts, but instead original parts made by the in-lore builder. The GBF stories never intersect with one another and I don't like that.

The tonfas can be used by other Gunpla, as the handles were made in the All Gundam Project standard, and the locking mechanism isn't necessary for a sufficient grip

Those are good options as painting fodder, but there's no harm in getting more-available Bandai kits that are reissued often to do painting practice either

Amazing Strike Freedom (Fin Funnel Type) Barret Amazing Strike Freedom Glitter Amazing Strike Freedom Rapid Amazing Strike Freedom Amazing Full Amazing Strike Freedom Don't forget that the Love Phantom from Build Divers is also based on the Strike Freedom. Trust me, when the next Build thing comes, it will have a Strike Freedom variant.

To be fair, GBF:Honoo is a light novel released in the magazine issues, so it's understandable that these are magazine releases. It is confusing as to why they made the Wing Zero Honoo, Transient Glacier, and Turn A Shin into proper kits though
