This is the most pleasant couple I have seen on House Hunters. Very smart and Practical People. They got a great price from 359 to 300. Great job. Their renovations make the house look more spacious. They considered all aspects of location, safety for children, price, and space. Very Intelligent Choice.

@Xcuze They just had a kid, why would she want renovations done? Plus married women typically have lower paying/freelance/less taxing jobs at this point in their lives because they have children and would rather spend a lot more time with their kids. Plus having reconstruction with kids so young in the home is a little dangerous. She's worried for her child and dosen't want to be overwhelmed. It's okay to have opinions, but compared to other annoying wives she is very down to earth, and not everyone can control the tone of their voice, or the sound.

Honestly, if you're not a troll, and really had the brain, and the skill sets to obtain a six figure job you would know that those are actual facts, not a sexist rant. Julian Cain why would someone want renovations done? Because buying a house is a huge purchase, and often a pretty permanent or semi permanent one in which a good chunk of their life will be spent living in. If you’re going to be spending nearly a half million or even a quarter million on a purchase it’s a good idea to do your best to get everything you really want and everything that makes sense for the value of the home. Lower paying jobs? It’s 2019. I personally make more money than majority of men in America and most of my girlfriends do as well. I wouldn’t assume that all mothers want to be full time stay home moms these days...so that’s just a preference thing and/or maybe not an option for many financially, and finally reconstruction being dangerous with young kids around? Seriously? I think you’re being a tad bit ridiculous. These people are making choices that are right for them and i seriously don’t see any of those decisions being particularly irrational or showing poor judgement on their part. You people need to stop flying off the handle judging couples who are on a television show that is designed to ENTERTAIN viewers...in other words and in house hunters case, producers takes 5 full days of filming and shrink it into 22 minutes of the juiciest, attention- grabbing (as far as hgtv can permit) story-line-pertinent material they can extract to deliver something that is going to please all of your house hunting pleasures. I’m not trying to personally attack you and your comment but this is the problem with the vast majority of these comments I see from regular viewers of the show. what you see is far from the full reality of these couples’ lives/personalities/circumstances. Think about it...television...what’s the end goal for a tv show...? People should be able to figure it out if they stop and think for a second. But maybe I’m just ruining all the fun of watching the show, seems like bashing house hunters couples has become a fun game of sort for die hard fans ever since social media has come to be. But just keep in mind...these couples can and most likely do see and read everyone’s comments on their episodes...and I’m just saying.. you wouldn’t really say this stuff to their face in real life I bet. So maybe everyone can spin their comments and critiquing in a more positive light. Don’t ruin it for these people who are excited and proud of the work they did on making their episode.

i personally liked the 3rd house the best but that's obviously a HUGE price tag, especially in relation to what they ended up paying for the house they chose. They made a smart decision, and from what they showed at the end, they're doing well with the updates!

"It's not walking distance from the village" seems so weird to me. My family and I rented a cabin in the summers for as long as we could afford it and we did it for the seclusion. We didn't mind being 30 minutes from town. Unless you have health problems or have some strange reason for constant access, I think being far from town would actually be a plus.

I've never met anyone who went back to work that quickly. The norm where I am is about 12 months. Daycares won't even take babies that young here. At 5 weeks you would still be hormonal and sleep deprived and recovering from birth.

This is NOT a cabin. Come up here to Alaska and you will see cabins. This would be luxery living compared to some places I lived. Many cabins here don't have running water and/or electricity.

You don't buy house because you like freaking bunk beds in it buddy. you can buy bunk beds a lot cheaper than you can buy , a house. I think both of you are not thinking right at all . people want to come to a lake or some X they like to be right on the lake usually or there's people that like to be way out in the woods. There are City people that like to be way out in the woods not close to town at all they can go to town anytime at home. so either one is good on the lake or out in the woods probably on the lake for most people

scifi vampire it was an old house, so there is expexted rebuilding so some wiggle room. And to hire a contractor and fix it up will cost more. Plus any outdated electrtic wiring, internet cables, water pipes, and general house intregrty over the years it'll start to break down, unforeseeable problems, and it it is old.

I am watching from the Caribbean that is sunny to compare with the USA and the snow, but i love house #3. The communication between the couple is admirable and they showed great maturity. The realtor must be congratulated for negotiating the final price down to 300,000, plus the furniture. I must say the wife is gorgeous. However, the show is fake. They chose house #1way in advance, the other 2 were added

She likes being in an isolated place but i think that's a bad idea, now what if they were attacked who would be there to help chase away a potential intruder or to say something, if they were able to see what happen. Intruders like houses that are in isolated places.

You watch too many movies. Your way more likely to get a home intruder in suburbia or a city. I live in an isolated place and you know why it's safer? Three reasons, no one knows the house is there, my dogs know that if someone is there they shouldn't be and if I have to use the 12 gauge I don't have to worry about hitting an incident neighbor. What's more likely to be at the front door is a bear or coyote.

@ Phillip550c intruders could be anywhere in the world they could be in the city,suburban or isolated places, now how can you prove in an isolated place that someone(Who may be a potential intruder) could not know about that area already? Do you think an intruder would always stay in the city where police is looking for them after a successful intruding? how do I know that my dog can't be killed or how do I know my 12 gauge can't be used on me.

I think he is financially smart thinking about rental opportunities. Additional income is more than welcome in a situation they are going to be on a single income in the foreseeable future. Freelancing photography can be nice bonus but bonus.

I'm ONLY a couple minutes in. I don't like #1 already--only because it looks like a house not a getaway! #2 STILL I don't get the "getaway" vibe! I'm starting to think it's me? Better than the first, though. I'm NOT saying it's not GORGEOUS etc. I'm just thinking in terms of short term renters. VIEW---EXQUISITE! #3 Starting to feel more "country" or "Tourist" attractive. I hate how "SHE" keeps saying "I LOVE THE MODERN LOOK" (I can only imagine how gorgeous their HOME is--, but this is suppose to be a FUN GETAWAY! I'm not sure why i'm so annoyed--I'm too old to be annoyed over a video)! I, for what THEY SAID they wanted, would PASS on all 3. I'd choose #3 if had to pick one. YES, they are ALL GORGEOUS! Hey HGTV: Is there any fucking way you can stop producing shows with OVER SATURATED colour correction? The blue really stands out way too much. Look at the guy's shirt, it's almost as bright as a reflective vest and even the blue in other parts of this episode seep through. Ie: When the light reflects off of objects, there's a blue tint to it.
