Sadly half of the renovations done on HGTV shows are nightmare renovations because they hire subcontractors and half of them are crap they hide all the screws up and uncompleted projects in the reveals they don't even come back to fix anything HGTV just refers them to the subcontractors that did the crappie work in the first place and they don't come back because they have already been payed by HGTV

I liked HGTV back when the show hosts showed the audience how to do things themselves for less money with great results. Now it seems to be about rich people buying expensive homes or paying top dollar for renovations that seem to be affordable only to the wealthy. Rich people getting richer. As usual.

I like when they show you how to prepares the foods like Briskets and make gravy. Now they talk more about nothing and not showing you what they are using and everything they cook have hot spices. He taught people how to make beautiful designs for their home!I also loved it when David had his own show! So much more creative than showing Lottery Winner’s new homes. I’m excited for them, but wasting David’s unbelievable creativity!❤️🙏🤷‍♀️ I’m enjoying the twins in Portland who take unsellable homes, put their money and creative touches and make a lot more money 💰! HGTV “stars” are messier than some of the houses they renovate. Some are overused and overexposed (enough with the Property Brothers shows already), Chip and Joanna fans are welcome to them on their own network where they can cherry pick who they want to work with and most of the shows aren’t as entertaining as they think they are. Their magnolia network took over the DIY channel with most shows reruns of there old show and some new shows. It's free or included in most listing. Their magazine is another story...The Magnolia Journal is very fancy and comes only quarterly. Joanna comes off snobby and highbrowed. Unlike her laid back TV self.

After renovation on the " Property Brothers" the clients keep all furnishings in the house. On " Fixer Upper " the clients keep nothing!!!! After filming Johanna gives the clients an itemized package of everything to purchase or they're left with an empty house or possibly their old furniture if they have it stored away. Even on "Love it or List it" the clients keep the furniture. Fixer Upper is a furniture scam!!!!! LMAO😂😂😂

On Love it or List it, they pay for the furniture. The client knows up front on Fixer Upper that the furniture isn’t included, unless they save on expenses to purchase the furniture after. It’s business! They cannot afford to give away all that beautiful furniture! But the client knows from the beginning!

You can make your home beautiful no matter where you live. KZbin is my go to for diy projects I only watch HGTV to get some ideas🤷🏽‍♀️not only that a lot of things now days are made with cheap materials. If you diy you can make things with better materials.

I notice several comments on furnishings and that is HUGE on all HGTV propaganda productions as In most cases the clients would be thrilled just from getting all new furnishings to replace their ugly crap. That is never more obvious than on Love It or List It where Hillary always starts with a 95% advantage when you combine clients’ emotional attachment to their current home with the dramatic replacement of their crap decor possessions.

also look at problems with the home improvement series of shows on abc where they send the family away for vacation of one week like disney world orlando and they come back and are revealed the upscaled house that they can no longer pay the taxes. i heard from a reliable source that clean up crews spent weeks removing concrete that was dumped because it was hardening in the cement truck with no place to go. cool stuff to much drama and fake newa.

Everyone on earth except for the most naive of people know that all reality TV programs are anything but that. Everything on every show is prescripted or at least discussed if they change something on the fly. Reality is boring and takes a long time. The second constant truth is all of these networks like HGTV and such make the stars of the shows sign contracts that include clauses that as long as the show is popular they are not allowed to quit the show Even after years of service. Also if they start doing anything to try to discourage viewership there will be major penalties thrown on them. So no matter what their personal lives are, no matter what problems are going on in their life, these willing Stars are basically owned until the network decides that they are free to go. Just like on flip or flop show the couple have been having problems for a long time in the marriage was falling apart but the studio did not care and legally forced them to keep working together on the show raising their family together, no matter how much medical or psychological trauma these two are going through. Even after he got to the point where he just mentally broke down and was going to shoot himself in the head they still would not allow this couple out of their contract. They were forced to keep making the show together and I guess after a while the network was receiving so much hatred backlash from the viewers that they finally handed them working together on the show but still would not release them to get their lives together and instead made them both start walking on two separate shows. This is why Hollywood is such a cesspool of absolutely trash that people end up working for and get their lives destroyed. Hollywood or any other variation of it should be held accountable and a court of law for the abuse they put these people through that have made them so much money. They are nothing more than people who torture other people that they consider to be their property. And we know what that is called don't we? 👀👀👀👀

I love their show until he do something nasty like putting water bugs in his mouth from abandoned building, picking up dead RATS 🐀 with his hands from abandoned building, put turn mice dropping, from abandoned tub that he didn't what it was, touch things with his hands and have no PROBLEMS tasting it. He make my skin crawl. So I watched them when it's almost finished. I think they do a beautiful amazing job. He's smart and knows his stuff, but what he find funny, it would send me to the emergency room. "Reality programming" is an oxymoron! LOL Everyone knows it's fake - some more than others. We used to watch Fixer Upper - I liked them if not their style - but since they left it's nothing. I still love Grand Designs, a serious approach to owner-built homes covering all the bases from land, plans, ideas behind the house, cost and a variety of styles, mostly modern. Unlike the reality shows, houses take years to finish on these shows (one show has one build) and they are original. You will never hear "pop of color" (or anything that pops), "feature wall". "open concept", "rustic charm", "Double vanity", etc. The host, an architect, still says "master bedroom".
