Silly Abhishek, don't you know that Aura is an ability that is completely at the whim of the plot. If a character needs to survive, then they have their aura up, even if it was previously being shown broken in a scene. If a character needs to die/be maimed, then their aura suddenly vanishes into the ether, even if it shouldn't.

It’s literally the whole point of her execution... her semblance is called Grudge, where it acts similar to Yang’s. The more damage she dishes out, the stronger she becomes, making her a powerhouse in long-lasting fights. Taking her out before she has the chance to build up her power would leave her vulnerable.. Adam knew this, and killed her before she got the chance to fight.

Why wasn't this a fight scene. This should have been a fight scene. Sienna's design is gorgeous. It would have made Adam a better villain as we see his bloodlust. It would have made volume 5 slightly more interesting. It would have created conflict and tension. I think they were going for the shock value of 'oh, he's just killed a powerful figure!' but that is completely useless because we were introduced to sienna like 20 mins ago and she's done nothing but sit in a chair.

It wasn’t a fight scene, because Adam KNEW Sienna.. her semblance is called Grudge. Where, if she dishes out damage to her foes, the stronger she becomes, making her a powerhouse in a long-standing fight. Adam killed her before she got the chance to build her power. Like Yang gaining strength with each hit she takes, Sienna gets stronger with eat hit she gives, making her a ruthless opponent. IF Adam and Sienna had a full-on battle, she would’ve executed him, herself.

At no point did Adam show the audience that he knew that, and there’s nothing we can use to infer that either. Hell, Sienna’s semblance isn’t even mentioned in the show. This wasn’t a fight scene because the animators didn’t want to animate one. There’s no lore behind it. I’m fairly certain that Senna didn’t even have a semblance assigned to her at this point in production. This was meant to be a tense ‘oh shit, Adam has overtaken the white fang’ moment but when we have no clue who Sienna is, it just falls flat. At least create an action sequence with it.

@@mitsunitaiko1742 except that doesn’t work because a) many people have no clue who her voice actor is and b) killing off a character after 30 seconds isn’t surprising because we… don’t care about them. I get what they were going for - the Edd Stark style “oh, they’ve killed a famous actor really early?? Huh?’ But that doesn’t really work for voice actors. It also doesn’t work when we’re 5 volumes in, because all the main characters are established.

Imagine if Sienna not only remained alive, but was the final antagonist of Blake's White Fang arc. Hell, her Semblance could be seen as a counter to Blake's. Sienna's works best when fighting multiple opponents while Blake's is best against one or two foes. She's the one who changed the White Fang, so it makes sense she would be the final obstacle.

I actually met Sienna's voice actress, Monica Rial, at Connecticon 2021. I briefly asked her about her experience working on RWBY, and she had said that she would be interested in seeing Sienna's past and getting to voice a younger version of the character. Not gonna lie, but I think that seeing Sienna's backstory would be pretty dope as well.

They only answer I can understand is that someone has made weapons that can bypass aura, and the process turns the object red. It’s rare to see, as Qrow’s scythe is probably the only other weapon besides Adam’s. Raven’s blades are made of dust and changes colors so it doesn’t count. You can argue that Juniors’ henchman have red weapons but I think they are just colored to fit their theme.

I really hope those guards deaths at Adam's hands were slow. I love just thinking of them bleeding out, slowly, in pure agony, as they realize how stupid they were to follow someone who was so willing to kill one of their own.
