Don’t get me wrong it was amazing while it lasted and this is subjective, but I left because the longer I stayed through school the weirder the people got. Other than that band is a great experience!

You have such a nice sound!! Hi, I'm a flute player, and I "fell in love" with this anime a long time ago... seeing this cover made me want to do something like this, but I discovered that I have to make my own music which I don' t really like to do, but I think I have to do that to be able to play this..... I sent my clarinet player friend this link, and she loved it!

Honestly, I love listening to your covers! Your talent in playing clarinet inspired me to actually pick up my clarinet. I was a casual player and actually used to hate playing, but it was mandatory unless I wanted to do general music. After I listened to one of your covers, I was in awe and thought, "I want to play like that." I now love my clarinet now that I know the potential it has and how beautiful a clarinet can sound. I enjoy coming back to all of your videos to listen. Even after rewatching them plenty of times, I still get goosebumps. I can happily say now that I am a clarinet player of five years and love my instrunment! Thank you for being an inspiration for me to look up to and helping me getting back into clarinet.

You've also help me correct some of the runs as I missed a few notes here and there, gosh those are hard to transcribe. Also from what I can tell, they also nailed the shots with the trombones, euphoniums, and trumpets with the fingers/slide positions. (that attention to detail!)

I'm looking at the actual score for the piece and you were pretty much spot on - there were a few places were you were playing bits played by other instruments (mostly flutes and trumpets) and one or two spots where you played something that wasn't in any of the parts but still worked, but to be able to figure out all of that by ear is amazing, well done
@shonhayashi8 жыл бұрын
+Kristian M Is the actual score available somewhere on the public domain now? I'd certainly like to get my hands on it. And yep, there were definitely a few parts where it was hard to differentiate between clarinets and flutes. I'm glad someone was able to verify that it's mostly correct though! Thanks a lot! :P

+ShonHayashi Anime Clarinet I got it through my concert band, it's not available in the public domain - I think we might have bought it online from print-gakufu.com (although that site is in Japanese so I'm not sure). Hello! Hibike Euphonium is my all time favourite anime! I am also a clarinettist and wanted to ask for your advice! Your tonguing and staccato, tone breathing and everything I can hear in your recording and phenomenal, I am hoping to ask you how you go about your practice sessions and if you have any tips or exercises you use to improve finger patterns, speed or control over your notes etc. I want to make sure I get the most out of my practices and be able to install good habits that will help me progress because practice is the only way to do so! If you have any advice it would be a great help, I love your work and wish you well to advance further in your own clarinet playing, you have inspired me so I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks and gratitude for the sheet music as well haha! ☺️☺️☺️☺️🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
@shonhayashi5 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the kind words! For my routine, I try to warm up with maybe 3 minutes of long tones to prep my air, and then go into scales (Baermann, or Klose if I'm strapped for time), and articulation studies. Entire warmup usually takes 20-30 mins. After that I go into rep. For those things you mentioned, practice scales and patterns (returning scales, arpeggios, scales thirds...basically all the stuff in Baermann vol. 3 on IMSLP) with a metronome and go slow, no faster than you can play perfectly cleanly. Eventually you're gonna want to commit all scales and arpeggios to memory. I also highly recommend the Jeanjean Vade Mecum for improving finger coordination and independence. Very tedious, but if you have any specific fingering issues like sluggish pinkies, low B-C# or C#-D#, it works wonders. Hope that helps! :D
