I have met Hickok45 and Big John twice & both times they were genuinely nice men & seemed just as glad to shake my hand as I was with them.

Wonderful to see the father and son interact so well together. Enjoying a good cigar and an Old Style beer. Great studio props as well!👍🏼

I'm pretty close to Hickok's age and my son is pretty close to John's age. The cool thing I came away from this is that my son and I love to sit down and burn cigars together. Shit doesn't get any better than that!!!

I've made it a goal to someday try and shake your dad's hand someday. I respect him alot. Just seems like a wonderful person. Like your podcast. Glad you both reach out and do what you do to hopefully educate people.

Old Style Beer, going up in the Southside of Chicago it was far and away the biggest seller of all the beers.

Loved watching this. My late father was the one that got me into hickok45 a couple years before he passed. Watching and listening to you two interact brings me back to having old gun talks with my dad around the table over coffee and cigarettes. Hope to see you two do this again soon, and even open it up to some gun talk questions from viewers! Stay safe in Chicago, brother. Hope to see you do some standup soon

Just found this podcast!! I watch ya both on Hickok45 all the time. Almost two hours and it went by in a flash. You sure talked about a variety of topics!! Nice. My Pop and I use to talk for hours too!! We lost Pops last year but 68 years of memories!! Nice to see y'all chatter away together!! My favorite firearms are 45/70 levers. Second are revolvers. But have a bit of it all. Enjoyment for sure!! Cheers to ya from Ole' Virginny!! Rick

It’s ok with me that Hickok 45 stops smoking tobacco, but guys, please don’t stop smoking pot! Every time you guys mention “smoking” pot, it still makes me chuckle a little. I’m sure your local garden centers are happy to see y’all continue with your addiction! Speaking of our dad’s guns, I have a cool story: My dad served on Guam and other islands during WWII. His squad was taking some prisoners once, and had them lined up to inventory or whatever they do before they march them to the beach. My dad turned his head away from the guys (dumb newbie 2 Lt mistake). All of a sudden a Type 59, 8mm Nambu went flying past, just inches from his head. Thank God the thing had a broken firing pin. If it had been in working order, I wouldn’t be here! He gave the Nambu to me in ‘95 just before he died. I learned how to strip it and found the tip of the FP was still stuck in the breach face. It was 2-3 mm long. I found a guy in Fla. that imported Japanese weapons, and he had n.o.s. firing pins in stock! Anyway, it shoots like a dream with an unbelievably light trigger! I shorten and form .38 Special cases, and load a 90-92 gr bullet with 3.2 grains of Bullseye, and they function just fine. This is one fugly gun, but I’ll always cherish it.
