Asuh ya bunch of hicks! I was out fishing on a 90 degree day and it hit me like a heat stroke... summer bait video! In this video I go over my favorite baits to use in the "dog days" of summer. Just started flipping more this year and absolutely loving it. 4/0 ewg superline hook, 15lb seaguar invis-x, 7’2” expride med hvy, Chronarch 8.1:1 reel. Works great for the under 5lb fish but worried about bigger fish so wanna ungrade to a 7’6” expride hvy and a 8.1:1 metanium mgl with 17 or 20lb invis-x.

Ive been using FC Sniper 20-25lb and i have never had any issues when it comes to my flipping set up. I would recommend a heavy rod though for sure!

All of those are mine too< minus the jig. I use a Carolina Rig instead. For some reason on the West side in the big natural lakes this works better for me. I often finesse it down for dog day smallmouth. 4" lizard or smaller dropshot style baits.

I was just talking about the Carolina rig with a buddy of mine. I havent thrown it in years! I'll have to try that out this summer! Do you use tungsten for your Carolinas?

Have you tried the tackle boxes like master bass? If so thoughts

I have not. I use the waterproof ones from plano and the bass mafia boxes. I can say though, the bass mafia boxes for terminal tackle is a godsend. you weights and hooks all stay in the correct places without jumping.
