My favorite version of this tune. One of my favorite fiddlers of all time. Have played many a contradance with this tune....long as ya keep it square.....marvelous rendition here..

You're right. That song was written to the melody of this older tune. John Ashby just through in an extra high part in his version.

Hi Tyler, Did you know you can slow down youtube videos by clicking on the cog in the lower right corner of the video? You can play them back as slow as 1/4 speed. These videos were just review videos for workshops we gave years ago. Turns out a lot of folks have been learning from them which is cool but they were never intended to be teaching videos..just to help the students who took the workshop remember how the tunes went. sorry about that. Hope you enjoy the tune. I love this version from John Ashby. Erynn
