awesome catch on the king n jd lol this place looks amazing: u can fish both on the wharf and if theres no space the rocks is also a great option as well.

I got a stella 10000sw mainly for spinning metals and poppers. It has 300m of 80lbs braid would that be fine for live baiting big pelagics ? Or would I need a overhead game reel? which I notice all use for live baiting. I got a Saltiga C85XHS rod as well.

sounds sweet to me bud! similar to my fin-nor lethal set up!

I use a finnor 9500 with 160mtrs of 80pound mono for fishing kings off the rocks its lock and load when your on I lost a 20kg ish fish cuppla weeks ago was by meself certainly gave me a fight allright recon may have got if had a gaffer there
@AdventurewithKZ4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, yep you will be fine just watch that line angle and stay clear of rough stuff haha but yep my top water set is nowhere near as strong as that set up and I've done ok mate
@musicmadantidevil36884 жыл бұрын
@@AdventurewithKZ all depends where your targeting the kings I guess as to how hard they get fort most places I get em there's a lot of foul and shallowness so try and winch em inn.just rats 7kg up to 10kg the odd biggger one witch have lost or ben broken off

Me and my dad were out fishing off waihi beach and this massive kingie smashed our snapper rig and had our reels on full drag and was peeling line off and instantly jumped and busted us off.

Nice video. is there a rig in particular targeting John Dory from the land?cheers
@AdventurewithKZ7 жыл бұрын
Cheers bud, my go to for Johnys is the simple ledger rig! I've done a quick vid on it bro as an example but if you have a local wharf dropping live bait down on a couple of ledger rigs is a sure way to be targeting them!

Hi KZ, have been watching your videos on Slidebaiting. tried it first time today. luckly got a decent KY on a live grey mullet. My set up is 50lb braid, a stopping bead, a game swivel and 5oz sinker on 1.5m of 15kg mono leader. On the slider, I have 2 Snelled circule hooks on 60lb 0.5m leader However,I have encoutered some issues and need a bit advice. 1) the slider seems not slide smoothly, so it was quite hard to get the bait into the water, is it because of the braid? 2) it tangled up every time when I change the bait. Do you reckon my leader with the sinker too long? Thank you
@AdventurewithKZ7 жыл бұрын
ilex Wang hey bud if tangling it could be because line is not tight enough and sinker not grabbing you want your line to be taught i am not too familiar with using braid for it as only have ever done it with mono. hope that helps buf

good stuff what time best time to catch live bait?
@AdventurewithKZ8 жыл бұрын
i find the moment you put burley in the water they turn up ready to feed and its great when you can get them before sunrise as it means a fresh livey is out ready for the change of light i find that bait fish are always ready to feed if they are in the area. but if they have suddenly disappeared it usually is for a reason. it could mean that the predators have turned up.
