Hey mate, awesome video. What bay did you sup fish from in Taiharuru and did you use fish finder or just go out a certain distance?
@Fishingreminder3 жыл бұрын
cheers man, just went pretty much straight out from Taiharuru, a couple hundred meters past the headlands. Then just drifting around with soft baits. Yeah I used a fish finder as well. It was showing heaps of action in this area when I was there.

@@Fishingreminder cheers bro. I really wanna give sup fishing a go but don't see too many people in NZ doing it.
@Fishingreminder3 жыл бұрын
@@wassupbro1026 SUP fishing is a ton of fun but you're limited to very calm days and you can't go too far from shore. It's suitable for sheltered bays or lakes. Otherwise I usually use my kayak.

i like your videos and think what you're recreation is awesome i am aslo a spearfishermen fisherman and photographer but it really ruins a spot when you give it away especially in these local areas it does not take many people to overfish a spot. People tell there friends who tell there friend who tell theirs and in a local little spot some people are sustanably fishing turns into a busy overfished area. it is also very unfair to the people who gave you the spot.

Thanks for your comment. I agree and disagree with you. Firstly, yes of course you should not give away your mate's secret honey holes. But if your mate’s top-secret spot is a well-known place like Busby Head, for example, that’s been covered in the media since the beginning of time, then your mate will be in for a lot of disappointment every time he opens a web browser. In our videos, we only cover well-known fishing spots, because we love exploring. A quick search on google will reveal all the spots we mentioned here from multiple sources. You can even find them on real estate websites these days :) They have been covered on TV and in fishing magazines and despite all that, the last time we were there, we were the only ones fishing. The word is out, there’s no point in keeping something a big secret that’s not a secret at all. Knowledge is power and the more fishing spots people know about, the more they can spread out and the less crowded each spot will be. But yeah, if we do find a secret spot then we will make sure to keep it a secret :) And there are still a lot of secret fishing spots around, that the locals can have all to themselves.
