I liked it, but why didn't he tell his girlfriend that he was grabbed upward? This alone would make me not go back in attic. Plus, they could've broken a window. Looking forward to sequel though.

Thank you! The fuse box actually wasn’t in the attic (because they never are). The original reason for Daniel to go up into the attic was the grab the lantern, but on the day of shooting, we though that it didn’t make sense. The whole concept of the breaker box in the attic was a decision made up on the spot.

I appreciate your effort... The film is technically sound as far as the quality, editing, etc... But to say the concept is clichéd would be an understatement. The story/ narrative is unoriginal and feels rushed and half-baked. The acting is bad as well as the writing in general. The character's decisions and actions/ reactions seem unnatural and nonsensical. And the monster is beyond generic and lacks any kind of believability as it looks like a simple costume from a dept. store, and simply isn't scary. I saw your comment on you producing a sequel based off of this film and if I were you, I'd scrap that and start with a new, original idea. I mean not to discourage you, only to offer constructive criticism. But again, the completion of such an endeavor is commendable alone.

I agree that this was pretty unoriginal and that it needs a lot of work. The sequel I’m creating is more like a standalone film, but it does pick up where this one ended. The script has been in the works for 5 months and is going to be a massive step up from this film. I believe that people will be very impressed with the upcoming sequel. Everything will be greatly improved.

The actors' voices reminded me of scraping fingernails on a blackboard. Her acting needs much improvement. I watched, i jumped and mostly enjoyed. Hope the sequel has a new girlfriend. Keep trying. It's how you become a Tarantino or Scorsese.

Next time work more on ... technical side...choose an actor not any immature guy or a female....balancing of the background music between the dialogues is too important...choose a better getup for the monster.... overall u will have to work out more for the next shoot.

To me, It would have been better if you just had him drop the book as he was behind her walking out, he makes it out the door and we say to door, then a force pulls him slowly back into the house, he resist while going backwards, as he passes the door, he grabs onto it the door frame and holds on to the door frame as tight as he could, but is overpowered, losing his grip and finally gets pulled in... then the door closes. The way he played it out by taking his time it was so predictable and gave away the obvious, it would have been nice to have a buildup of him momentarily being free then getting snatched, that would have been more satisfying.

The moment the guy sees the creature was the scariest point of the movie. I would have shorten the time showing the creature or just show it until just about when the head starts to come up. I always find those horror movies where you are not quite sure of what the demon is, to be some of the scariest. And, with limited money for special effects, something creepy in the shadows will work. I always get distracted when things don't make sense. The attic's footprint doesn't match the house. It's way too small. It would have been more appropriate to have shown a cabin. No one has their circuit breaker box in the attic. No one piles insulation like it was in the movie. I didn't even know that they still made that type of insulation. What would have been really scary would to have the girl disappear after the lights came on in the attack. Good luck with your next film.
