They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain.

The amount of hidden bits and pieces on that single island is mind-blowing! Ah nostalgia, what a place! 💜

Been wanting to visit here for a while - beautiful time to go, too. I actually just shot a video last weekend on another island in Narragansett Bay, Gould Island. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
@JMExplorationsАй бұрын
We've actually talked about Gould Island. Is that the one that they refer to as tickville? lol Anyway, yeah you won't regret going to Rose Island Lighthouse/Fort Hamilton. It has all kinds of abandonment and a very cool history. Just remember that most of the island is off limits from March 1-Aug 15 due to bird nesting. It's a great place for drone footage as well. We go at the end of October every year near Halloween!!!

You should of fallen in and taken one for the team..Marcel Only a loving husband would say that. ya..lol. Those brick walls look like just the right touch would bring em down. Be funny if you two pushed a bit but not enough and then a bird sits on it and causes the wall to come a falling..I gotta tell ya I love islands. Surrounded by seawater just works. This one is really nice. During the closing arial shot at 27:22 the island kinda looks like a dolphin. Good job again..c-ya!

You found the Quonset hut! That’s what I’ve been looking for for years! Also, I believe there are tunnels all over that island!
@JMExplorationsАй бұрын
We know that there is more out there but a lot of the area is so thick that it's impossible to walk through as you know.
@TheBlindPhotographer1Ай бұрын
@@JMExplorations They have cleared a lot since I was out there. I once put on the property managers coveralls and tried to get through it, but that didn’t happen! It was way too thick!

That island is just too cool! Love to watch you two explore… I’ve missed so much during this last 12 months, including you Guys, but I’ll catch up. I need to ask you… in New England, what’s the most festive Christmas town… preferably small? I want to make up for last year… You Guys definitely had your share of bushwhacking… lol… I’d pick up every critter in the lot…lol… and evil vegetation, including poison ivy… lol such cool structures. Pitch black equals bats… lol. Thank you so much for sharing this…. Smooches..✌️🙂❤️

@@tresannrn8454 Hi and hugs to you! We haven’t been out and about as much, but we are exploring whenever we can. This island is special to us and we are happy to share it with you! Hmmmmm….small Christmas town in New England. Well my first thought was Mystic. It is beautiful and so festively New England at Christmas time. Another town I love at Christmas is Essex, Ct. It is such a beautiful small town. Are you planning a trip to New England?

Very Nice! I am back in RI. A friend and I had recently done Patience Island (nothing there to explore) and had talked about doing Rose Island. It's starting to get a bit cold though.

@@UndergroundLookingUp Have you ever been to Dutch Island?? That one is on the list!
@UndergroundLookingUpАй бұрын
@@JMExplorations Yes, I caught Babeosis from Dutch Island. I have a video a while back on my channel. It's a beautiful one and well worth the visit, but the ticks are awful and on a re-trip to collect a light I left there, I ended up having over 1000 seed ticks on me. I went home with about 200 still around my ankles. So, winter time might be the safest time for that one.
@JMExplorationsАй бұрын
@@UndergroundLookingUp I am kicking myself right now because I think your video is the one that gave us the spark to go there someday. I think this time of year would be perfect since the ticks have died down….hopefully.
@UndergroundLookingUpАй бұрын
@@JMExplorations Haha no worries, I have actually explored a few places inspired by your videos, I have not uploaded them yet though. I forget what time of year we went to Dutch Island for the first time, but the ticks weren't too bad! It may have been spring time. I did find a few ticks on me last week after a hike, so it's a roll of the dice. Still a very cool place to visit.
