Arcade tech 30 years. When I ran my namco store, I was also one of the few local AAA DDR players, so I did a lot of stuff for our DDR community. A friend showed me how to use a Hex editor to modify the code to add brake and wave to the modifier screen. We also added the 0.5 speed mod as well. I bought the 573 chip on ebay to have the ability to load any version onto my machine. I still have the chip and I use it in my personal machine.

Yes but no since that note is on the 8th beat, meaning that if you are not that paying attention at the end you can blow it since freeze notes don’t have an indication of what note they are on in the beginning

The weird part is that Love Shine CSP has also moved when the song gets put on another game outside of Extreme. Love Message is probably my favorite out of all of these that ending is so fun

There are hidden chart for DDR A too. STERLING SILVER. Believed to be lvl 14 for both Single/Double. I'm surprised it weren't released for public use. I didn't dare to make my video as public at that point of time (6 years ago) as DDR A was still running online & Konami could get pissed off with me.

So for the blue impulse chart, the down arrow clearly should be at the end of the expert chart which ends on an 8th before. Probably just some weird copy/pasting issue. All of the challenge only songs that got difficult charts basically were watered down duplicates so the lights wouldn't be flashing quite so often (on an actual machine you'll see the lights are synced to those charts), in higher's case it wasn't needed so probably was just an oversight. Dam dariram has been all but confirmed it's meant to be Give it up, and if it isn't it's a huge coincidence because it fits the song pretty damn perfectly. As for last message i've got no idea other than just junk data? Nobody has ever had a reason for it, also some other songs like Least 100 Seconds apparently had a challenge chart but it was just a duplicate of it's heavy chart, I can't remember if there were others though. Fun fact, these were also available on DDR X i believe because you could do a similar difficulty select glitch to how it works on extreme but only on songs next to folders on the song wheel, you also got to see their groove radars this way too.
@PoweredUpMikeАй бұрын
I'm glad you mentioned Blue Impulse. If you compare the singles chart you'd see how it's supposed to end with a freeze arrow. About doing the glitch in DDR X, is there any documentation of this online?
@krispearmanАй бұрын
@PoweredUpMike no idea but you hover over a folder so all difficulties are available with a song next to it with a missing chart then swap to the difficulty you want on the pad whilst moving to the song. I remember it being really fiddly but it did work eventually.
@starshipenterprisesАй бұрын
I remember 蒼い衝動 ~for EXTREME~and The Least 100sec having CSP charts that were just duplicates of their ESP counterparts, yeah. Since the game's default behavior when trying to load a CSP chart that doesn't exist is simply loading up the ESP one, I didn't think it was that interesting to show them. Both of these charts and LOVE♥SHINE's CSP charts made it to the North American release of DDR SuperNOVA, though.

Last Message Oni may have been a dummy chart but those left arrow jackhammers at 7:13 in my opinion, was probably a driving inspiration for 打打打打打打打打打打 Challenge, び Challenge, and most recently, Red. by Full Metal Jacket Challenge

Random nostalgia moment watching these. I only knew about Higher, Last Message, Love Shine Oni (excellent chart btw, shame it was never made official) and Dam Dariram. I still don't particularly think it was modeled off Captain Jack's Give It Up, though it comes very close.
